AbbVie are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in Carraigtwohill, Cork. This is a 23 month fixed term contract. The Maintenance Engineer reports to the Engineering Operations Manager. In this role, you will provide technical expertise for day-to-day production issues, with a focus on reliability engineering, asset management, continuous improvement, and energy/sustainability initiatives. You will also support manufacturing projects and help keep the site compliant, efficient, and audit-ready.
Support day-to-day production issues and reliability engineering activities
Troubleshoot technical issues and identify the most effective solutions
Support manufacturing projects in line with quality, safety, environmental, and operational requirements
Lead/support projects, training development, and cross-training
Drive process improvements and Kaizen activities
Work with EHS to ensure safety of staff and contractors
Ensure compliance with Engineering Change Control
Support reliability standards for equipment, processes, systems, and utilities
Participate in RCAs and implement corrective actions
Develop business cases for technical improvement projects
Improve maintenance systems and identify technical/financial opportunities
Support energy management, sustainability, and asset lifecycle planning
Degree (Level 8) in Mechanical or Chemical/Process Engineering or related subject area
2+ years’ experience in a Maintenance Engineering or similar role in an FDA or HPRA regulated environment
Experience in a sterile fill facility
Strong knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills
Fluent English
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
