Position Description <div>As an In‑Process Inspector Team Leader, you will support Applied Medical’s production and quality operations by guiding team members, coordinating workflow, and ensuring product quality meets established standards. You will lead by example while fostering a collaborative, professional, and quality‑focused work environment.</div> Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead by example, consistently following all Applied Medical policies, procedures, and standardized work processes.</li><li>Train, develop, and support team members, ensuring consistent performance, adherence to quality expectations, and compliance with regulatory requirements.</li><li>Promote a cohesive, professional team environment, maintaining open communication and reinforcing the company’s open‑door philosophy.</li><li>Establish and coordinate daily production schedules, ensuring product is inspected accurately and meets all quality and productivity goals.</li><li>Coordinate material and product movement according to inspection and production plans to support efficient workflow.</li><li>Manage labor coverage, assisting area leadership with staff allocation and overtime planning to support operational requirements.</li><li>Utilize SAP and other production systems to record inspection results, production output, scrap, downtime, and any issues affecting department goals.</li><li>Monitor and analyze daily labor times and key performance indicators, leveraging reports and internal applications (e.g., webapps) to ensure goals are met.</li><li>Review shop order documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality and manufacturing requirements.</li><li>Identify and escalate safety, quality, efficiency, or personnel concerns to area leadership to support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.</li></ul>Success in This Role Looks Like<ul><li>Consistently meeting inspection, quality, and production targets, with accurate documentation and minimal rework or non‑conformances.</li><li>A well‑trained and confident team, demonstrating strong understanding of inspection procedures, quality requirements, and standardized work instructions.</li><li>Efficient workflow coordination, resulting in smooth material movement, balanced workloads, and minimal delays or bottlenecks.</li><li>Clear, timely communication with team members and leadership, ensuring transparency around performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities.</li><li>Proactive identification and escalation of issues, helping prevent safety risks, quality concerns, or production disruptions before they impact output.</li><li>Strong team engagement and collaboration, reflected in positive interactions, accountability, and consistent adherence to Applied Medical’s values and expectations.</li><li>Accurate use of SAP and other reporting tools, enabling reliable tracking of labor, scrap, downtime, and performance indicators.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, contributing ideas that enhance efficiency, quality, or team development.</li></ul> Position Requirements This position requires the following skills and attributes:<ul><li>Experience in leading meetings, project management, and formal presentations</li><li>Resourceful in vendor sourcing and market research in order to implement cost effective and data driven solutions</li><li>Delegation of tasks and sharing of company goals</li><li>Experience leading teams and managing processes in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment; strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to read, comprehend, and communicate work and safety instructions effectively.</li><li>Proven ability to develop, refine, and maintain process improvements, along with experience in root‑cause analysis using industry‑standard methods.</li><li>Mechanically inclined with some familiarity of basic machinery, pumps, hydraulics, or other type of mechanically driven technology.</li><li>Experience creating or updating procedural documentation such as Training Records, MIs, SOPs, and GAs.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using SAP or similar material management software.</li><li>Demonstrated capability in leading meetings, managing projects, delivering presentations, and delegating tasks while aligning team efforts with company goals.</li><li>Resourceful in vendor sourcing and market research to implement cost‑effective, data‑driven solutions and work effectively in a diverse environment.</li></ul> Preferred The following skills and attributes are preferred:<ul><li>4-year degree in Business Administration or Operations and Supply Chain Management</li><li>Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills</li><li>Prior experience in SAP or other ERP data management systems</li><li>Working knowledge of manufacturing and production, or process-driven work environments</li><li>Experience leading in a manufacturing environment.</li></ul> Benefits <ul><li>Competitive compensation range: $22 - $26 / hour (California).</li><li>Comprehensive benefits package.</li><li>Training and mentorship opportunities.</li><li>On-campus wellness activities.</li><li>Education reimbursement program.</li><li>401(k) program with discretionary employer match.</li><li>Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule.</li></ul> Please note that the compensation range may be adjusted in the future, and bonus and incentive compensation plans may apply.
