Position Description The Production Lead supports daily manufacturing operations by coordinating team performance, monitoring production metrics, and reinforcing quality and safety standards within Applied Medical’s medical device manufacturing environment. This role bridges production team members and area leadership, ensuring that production schedules, engineering requirements, and quality expectations are executed accurately and efficiently.

The Production Lead contributes to operational excellence through real‑time performance tracking, team training, and cross‑functional communication, supporting high‑volume manufacturing, lean production practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Monitor daily labor hours, key performance indicators, and production tracking reports using web-based manufacturing systems and enterprise resource planning tools.</li><li>Oversee daily production schedules to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are achieved.</li><li>Train new team members on production processes, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements to ensure consistent performance and compliance.</li><li>Support the team leader by reinforcing direction, clarifying expectations, and ensuring consistent communication across the production team.</li><li>Review engineering drawings, shop order operations, and manufacturing sequences to ensure accuracy and adherence to documented processes.</li><li>Perform detailed product inspections using appropriate measurement tools and quality control equipment to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.</li><li>Ensure production lines are supplied with required components, materials, and documentation to prevent workflow interruptions.</li><li>Facilitate communication between production, quality assurance, engineering, and other departments to maintain operational alignment and resolve issues efficiently.</li><li>Identify and escalate safety, quality, efficiency, and team member concerns to area leadership for timely resolution.</li></ul>Success in This Role Looks Like<ul><li>Achieve daily and weekly production goals while maintaining strict quality assurance and regulatory compliance standards.</li><li>Improve team efficiency by monitoring key performance indicators and identifying opportunities for process optimization.</li><li>Strengthen workforce capability by effectively onboarding and training new team members in manufacturing best practices.</li><li>Foster strong cross-functional collaboration that supports smooth production flow and issue resolution.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation and production data within enterprise resource planning systems such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing.</li><li>Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production environment.</li></ul> Position Requirements This position requires the following skills and attributes:<ul><li>Demonstrate experience in a cleanroom environment with exposure to production metrics and quality control processes.</li><li>Apply the ability to interpret engineering drawings, shop orders, and standard operating procedures to guide production activities.</li><li>Utilize enterprise resource planning systems such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing and web-based production tracking tools.</li><li>Communicate clearly and effectively with production teams, quality assurance, engineering, and leadership.</li><li>Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to monitor multiple production priorities simultaneously.</li><li>Exhibit leadership capabilities, including training, coaching, and reinforcing production standards within a team-based environment.</li><li>Maintain a high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate, with relevant manufacturing or leadership experience preferred.</li></ul> Preferred The following skills and attributes are preferred:<ul><li>Demonstrate prior experience in a production lead, manufacturing lead, or team lead role within a regulated manufacturing environment.</li><li>Apply familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and key performance indicator analysis.</li><li>Contribute experience supporting medical device manufacturing or other quality-driven production environments.</li></ul> Benefits <ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li style="color: #212121;">Competitive compensation range: $19 - $23 / hour (California).</li><li style="color: #212121;">Comprehensive benefits package.</li><li style="color: #212121;">Training and mentorship opportunities.</li><li style="color: #212121;">On-campus wellness activities.</li><li style="color: #212121;">Education reimbursement program.</li><li style="color: #212121;">401(k) program with discretionary employer match.</li><li style="color: #212121;">Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule.</li></ul>Please note that the compensation range may be adjusted in the future, and bonus and incentive compensation plans may apply.Our total reward package reflects our commitment to employee growth and well-being, as we invest in your development and offer a range of benefits designed to enhance your career and life.All compensation and benefits are subject to plan documents and written agreements.
