Position Description The Production Manager leads manufacturing operations at Applied Medical, overseeing daily production activities, team performance, and equipment utilization to deliver efficient, safe, and consistent output in a regulated medical device environment. This role is well-suited for experienced manufacturing operations managers, production supervisors, and plant managers with a background in leading teams and driving performance across complex production environments.

The Production Manager supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures manufacturing processes meet quality, regulatory, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead daily production operations to ensure manufacturing targets, quality standards, and production schedules are met consistently.</li><li>Manage and develop production teams responsible for equipment setup, process monitoring, and manufacturing output within a regulated environment.</li><li>Oversee manufacturing equipment and systems to ensure reliable production performance and minimize downtime.</li><li>Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to resolve production challenges and optimize process stability.</li><li>Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives focused on production efficiency, scrap reduction, cycle time, and process capability.</li><li>Monitor key production metrics including yield, equipment efficiency, and throughput to drive measurable operational improvements.</li><li>Ensure compliance with quality systems, manufacturing documentation, and regulatory requirements associated with medical device production.</li><li>Coordinate preventative maintenance programs with maintenance and technical teams to sustain production continuity.</li></ul>Success in This Role Looks Like<ul><li>Delivering consistent production output that meets quality, safety, and schedule requirements across manufacturing operations.</li><li>Driving measurable improvements in manufacturing efficiency through process optimization, lean initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.</li><li>Building strong working relationships with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to support operational excellence.</li><li>Identifying and resolving production challenges quickly to minimize downtime and maintain manufacturing continuity.</li><li>Leading a production team that demonstrates a clear culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.</li></ul> Position Requirements This Position Requires the Following Skills and Attributes<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent experience in a manufacturing leadership role.</li><li>Demonstrated experience managing or supporting production operations and manufacturing teams within a fast-paced production environment.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, materials, and process performance.</li><li>Familiarity with manufacturing performance metrics such as cycle time, scrap rates, yield, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).</li><li>Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies within a production or manufacturing environment.</li><li>Strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational leadership skills.</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams and production personnel across all levels of a manufacturing organization.</li></ul> Preferred The Following Skills and Attributes Are Preferred<ul><li>Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical device, aerospace, automotive, or electronics manufacturing.</li><li>Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), or documentation practices associated with regulated industries.</li><li>Experience leading lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process optimization programs within a production setting.</li></ul> Benefits <ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li style="color: #212121;">Competitive compensation range: $85000 - $95000 / year(California).</li><li style="color: #212121;">Comprehensive benefits package.</li><li style="color: #212121;">Training and mentorship opportunities.</li><li style="color: #212121;">On-campus wellness activities.</li><li style="color: #212121;">Education reimbursement program.</li><li style="color: #212121;">401(k) program with discretionary employer match.</li><li style="color: #212121;">Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule.</li></ul>Please note that the compensation range may be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, experience.
