Position Description The Calibration Technician II plays a vital role in supporting Applied Medical’s commitment to quality, accuracy, and patient safety. This position is responsible for performing calibration, maintenance, and verification of inspection, measurement, and test equipment used throughout the organization.

The Calibration Technician II ensures that all equipment functions within required tolerances, supporting compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements. Working at Applied Medical’s global headquarters, the Calibration Technician II applies knowledge of electrical, dimensional, and mechanical disciplines to maintain calibration accuracy. This role contributes directly to the reliability of Applied Medical’s manufacturing and testing operations, ensuring precision in every product delivered to healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform precise calibration and verification of inspection, measurement, and test equipment across electrical, dimensional, and mechanical disciplines.</li><li>Maintain calibration standards and reference equipment to ensure measurement traceability and reliability.</li><li>Collect, analyze, and record calibration data to identify out-of-tolerance conditions and determine corrective actions.</li><li>Prepare and maintain detailed calibration documentation, including reports and certificates, in accordance with internal quality system requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to resolve equipment performance issues and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.</li><li>Support continuous improvement efforts by reviewing calibration methods and recommending process or equipment enhancements.</li><li>Ensure safe handling, storage, and maintenance of calibration tools and equipment.</li></ul>Success in This Role Looks Like<ul><li>Consistently performs accurate and timely calibration activities that meet Applied Medical’s quality and compliance standards.</li><li>Demonstrates strong attention to detail and analytical ability when identifying, documenting, and resolving calibration discrepancies.</li><li>Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment readiness for manufacturing and testing operations.</li><li>Contributes to process improvements that enhance efficiency and measurement reliability.</li><li>Maintains a strong commitment to safety, precision, and continuous learning within a fast-paced technical environment.</li></ul> Position Requirements This position requires the following skills and attributes<ul><li>High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.</li><li>Minimum of two years of experience in calibration, metrology, or a related technical field.</li><li>Working knowledge of calibration processes for electrical, dimensional, or mechanical measurement equipment.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to measurement accuracy and compliance.</li><li>Proficiency in technical documentation, data entry, and report preparation.</li><li>Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.</li></ul> Preferred The following skills and attributes are preferred<ul><li>Completion of college-level, technical school, or military training in calibration, metrology, or a related discipline.</li><li>Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical device, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.</li><li>Proficiency in calibration management software and statistical analysis tools.</li></ul> Benefits <ul><li>Competitive compensation range: $26 - $30 /hour (California).</li><li>Comprehensive benefits package.</li><li>Training and mentorship opportunities.</li><li>On-campus wellness activities.</li><li>Education reimbursement program.</li><li>401(k) program with discretionary employer match.</li><li>Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule.</li></ul>Please note that the compensation range may be adjusted in the future, and bonus and incentive compensation plans may apply.
