Position Description Position Overview The CNC Milling Machinist supports Applied Medical’s manufacturing operations by producing high precision components used in the development and production of medical devices. This role contributes directly to product quality, throughput, and reliability by setting up and operating advanced three axis, four axis, and five axis CNC milling equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The CNC milling machinist works closely with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure components meet engineering specifications, quality system requirements, and delivery commitments. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Set up and operate three axis, four axis, and five axis CNC milling machines according to engineering drawings, machining instructions, and production schedules.</li><li>Change cutting tools and perform offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and machining efficiency.</li><li>Interpret blueprint dimensions and tolerances to ensure parts meet engineering and quality requirements.</li><li>Inspect machined components using precision measuring tools to verify conformance throughout the machining process.</li><li>Follow machining instructions, quality system regulations, International Organization for Standardization standards, standard operating procedures, work rules, and safety guidelines.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve machining issues and support continuous improvement.</li><li>Meet production schedules while maintaining Applied Medical’s high standards for quality, safety, and documentation.</li></ul>Success in This Role Looks Like<ul><li>Producing consistent, high quality machined components that meet design intent and regulatory standards.</li><li>Completing machine setups efficiently to support steady production flow and on time delivery.</li><li>Demonstrating strong attention to detail through accurate inspections and documentation.</li><li>Maintaining effective communication with cross functional teams to address issues proactively.</li><li>Supporting a safe, compliant, and collaborative manufacturing environment.</li></ul> Position Requirements This position requires the following skills and attributes:<ul><li>Demonstrated experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Three to five years of work experience related to CNC milling machine set up and operation.</li><li>Proven ability to interpret blueprint dimensions and apply tolerance requirements.</li><li>Experience using precision measuring tools for in process and final inspection.</li><li>Working knowledge of machining instructions, quality system regulations, International Organization for Standardization standards, standard operating procedures, work rules, and safety guidelines.</li><li>Ability to read, write, and speak in English for effective communication and documentation.</li><li>Ability to lift fifty pounds as required for tooling and material handling.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.</li></ul> Preferred The following skills and attributes are preferred:<ul><li>Experience operating Makino, Haas, or DMG CNC milling machines.</li><li>Ownership and proficient use of personal precision and hand tools.</li><li>Background in medical device manufacturing or other regulated production environments.</li></ul> Benefits Benefits<ul><li>Competitive compensation range: $20 - $33 / hour (California). </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package. </li><li>Training and mentorship opportunities. </li><li>On-campus wellness activities. </li><li>Education reimbursement program. </li><li>401(k) program with discretionary employer match. </li><li>Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule. </li></ul>Please note that the compensation range may be adjusted in the future, and bonus and incentive compensation plans may apply.
