Position Description Position Overview The CNC Lathe Machinist supports Applied Medical’s manufacturing operations by producing high precision turned components used in medical device manufacturing. This role contributes directly to product quality, dimensional accuracy, and production efficiency by machining components on CNC lathe equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The CNC lathe machinist works closely with manufacturing engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure components meet engineering specifications, machining requirements, and delivery schedules.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Machine components on CNC lathe equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, routing sheets, and machining instructions.</li><li>Change cutting tools and perform offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and machining consistency.</li><li>Review blueprints, routing sheets, and supporting documentation to confirm machining requirements and process accuracy.</li><li>Interpret blueprint dimensions and tolerances to ensure components meet engineering and quality requirements.</li><li>Inspect machined components using precision measuring tools to verify conformance throughout the machining process.</li><li>Follow machining instructions, work rules, and safety guidelines while maintaining compliance with quality system requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve machining issues and support continuous improvement.</li><li>Meet production schedules while maintaining Applied Medical’s high standards for quality, safety, and documentation.</li></ul>Success in This Role Looks Like<ul><li>Producing consistently accurate, high quality turned components that meet design intent and manufacturing requirements.</li><li>Completing machine setups efficiently to support steady production flow and on time delivery.</li><li>Demonstrating attention to detail through accurate inspection and documentation.</li><li>Maintaining clear communication with cross functional teams to address issues proactively.</li><li>Supporting a safe, compliant, and collaborative manufacturing environment.</li></ul> Position Requirements This position requires the following skills and attributes:<ul><li>Demonstrated experience operating CNC lathe equipment in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Three or more years of work experience related to CNC lathe machining.</li><li>Proven ability to interpret blueprint dimensions and apply tolerance requirements.</li><li>Experience using precision measuring tools for in process and final inspection.</li><li>Ability to read, write, and speak in English for effective communication and documentation.</li><li>Ability to lift fifty pounds as required for tooling and material handling.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.</li></ul> Preferred The following skills and attributes are preferred:<ul><li>Experience in Mill turn manufacturing environments.</li><li>Background in medical device manufacturing or other regulated production settings.</li></ul> Benefits Benefits<ul><li>Competitive compensation range: $20 - $30 / hour (California). </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package. </li><li>Training and mentorship opportunities. </li><li>On-campus wellness activities. </li><li>Education reimbursement program. </li><li>401(k) program with discretionary employer match. </li><li>Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule. </li></ul>Please note that the compensation range may be adjusted in the future, and bonus and incentive compensation plans may apply.
