Senior Analytics Engineer – Data Applications
It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.
We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.
The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.
We are seeking a Senior Data Analytics & Full Stack Engineer to design and develop interactive, data-driven applications using open-source Python frameworks (such as Plotly Dash, Panel, or FastAPI-based web applications), integrated with modern data platforms such as Snowflake and dbt. This role combines deep expertise in analytics engineering with full-stack Python development to deliver scalable, self-service data solutions that support operations, planning, and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will partner closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to simplify access to insights, improve data quality, and drive automation. This role requires strong experience working within supply chain and operations domains, enabling the development of impactful solutions across planning, logistics, and manufacturing functions.
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, dbt, Airflow, and/or Spark
Develop curated, version-controlled datasets with well-defined metrics and business logic
Ensure high data quality through testing frameworks, monitoring, and anomaly detection
Optimize performance of data models and queries within cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred)
Design and develop user-centric, interactive web applications using open-source frameworks such as Plotly Dash, Panel, or FastAPI-based front ends for data exploration, reporting, and workflow automation
Build modular, reusable components for visualizations, data input/editing, approval workflows, and predictive use cases
Deliver scalable and maintainable full-stack solutions leveraging Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask)
Integrate applications with Snowflake, S3, Smartsheet, and REST APIs to enable end-to-end data workflows
Support CI/CD pipelines, version control, and containerized deployments (Docker)
Partner with stakeholders across supply chain, operations, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Collaborate with Enterprise Analytics teams to ensure alignment with data governance, security, and compliance standards
Lead design decisions and promote engineering best practices across data and application development
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Document systems, processes, and methodologies for broader organizational use
Maintain overlapping working hours with PST mornings for collaboration with global teams and stakeholders
10+years of overall experience and 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or full-stack development
Strong proficiency in SQL and advanced data modeling concepts
Extensive experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake strongly preferred)
Advanced Python programming skills with experience building data applications using Dash, Panel, or similar open-source frameworks
Experience with RESTful API development using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask
Hands-on experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar data transformation and orchestration tools
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Significant experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or operations analytics environments
Experience designing and scaling internal data products and self-service analytics solutions
Familiarity with authentication, multi-user application setups, and deployment of Python-based web apps
Exposure to visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Knowledge of supply chain processes such as demand planning, inventory optimization, procurement, and logistics analytics
Experience with performance optimization in large-scale data environments
Understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and enterprise data management best practices
Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
