This field has a direct impact on people's health, which is why we ensure that we are surrounded by a diligent team that upholds the highest quality standards.</p><p> </p><p>We are currently seeking a <strong>Mechanical Design Engineer – Product Cost</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Mechanical Design Engineer's mission is to lead engineering projects aimed at reducing procurement costs and mitigating the risk of supply disruptions for components and parts.</p></div></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>What You'll Do as a Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Cost</b></H2></div><div><div><p>You will work closely with our Sustaining Engineering team to: </p><p> </p><ul><li>Evaluate opportunities to modify part designs to achieve cost reductions or reduce the risk of supply disruptions;</li><li>Implement cost-reduction opportunities by working closely with our suppliers;</li><li>Identifiy cost-saving opportunities that may involve sourcing from new suppliers;</li></ul><p> </p><p>When a design modification project is approved, you will:</p><ul><li style="list-style-type: none;"><ul><li><p>Propose new designs.</p></li><li><p>Identifiy risks.</p></li><li><p>Assess feasibility with the Procurement and Engineering teams.</p></li><li><p>Validate compliance with applicable standards.</p></li><li><p>Review and validate designs with the Quality team.</p></li><li><p>Prepare engineering drawings.</p></li><li><p>Develop prototypes in collaboration with the Manufacturing team.</p></li><li><p>Implement design changes.</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Maintain awareness of developments in materials, technologies, assembly methods, and related industry advancements</p></li></ul></div></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed</b></H2></div><div><ul><li><div role="presentation" data-olk-copy-source="MailCompose">Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.</div></li><li><div role="presentation">Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).</div></li><li><div role="presentation">5–10 years of relevant experience.</div></li><li><div role="presentation">Advanced knowledge of mechanical design tools.</div></li><li>Excellent communication skills in both English and French.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.</li><li>Natural hands-on mechanical aptitude.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li></ul></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>What STERIS Offers</b></H2></div><div><div><div><p>At STERIS, we offer a stimulating work environment with genuine opportunities for career growth and advancement!</p><p> </p><p>STERIS is a well-established company in the medical equipment industry, specializing in decontamination, sterilization, and other infection prevention technologies.
