From our lab in Lenexa, this role works as part of a large team of technicians who support our hospital Customers by assembling, testing, and repairing electronic components and systems for medical devices. </p><p> </p><p>You do not need to have previous experience working with medical devices; we will train you!</p><p>Technicians have the ability to progress through technical levels as they learn, making this a great longterm career opportunity.</p></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>What You Will Do as a Technician</b></H2></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Utilize small hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers) for assembly and repair tasks </li><li>Operate microscopes and test equipment such as light sources and video processors </li><li>Perform hand soldering with precision and care </li><li>Read and follow manuals, work instructions, job standards, and related documentation </li><li>Communicate effectively with team members and customers, both verbally and in writing </li><li>Maintain a customer-oriented approach in all tasks and interactions </li><li>Use basic computer skills to input data, navigate systems, and complete documentation </li></ul></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed</b></H2></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>High school diploma or GED required</li><li>Mechanical/technical aptitude and hand-eye coordination are required.</li><li>Must be able to work occasional overtime, sometimes outside normal business hours (i.e. on a Saturday), based on Customer and business needs </li><li>2+ years of work experience is required, including at least 1 year of <strong>relevant experience*</strong>, or 1 year of experience at STERIS.

All experience must be verifiable.<ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><strong>*To be considered relevant</strong>, at least 1 year of work experience must involve some type of detailed, hands-on work with small or delicate components. Examples of qualifying experience include (but are not limited to):<ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Using hand tools to repair, assemble, or test items with small parts</li><li>Small engine repair, cell phone or circuit board assembly, repair, testing, or re-builds</li><li>Detailed carpentry work, installation of home security systems</li><li>Nail technician work, sterile processing, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, or musical instrument repair/tuning</li></ul></li></ul></li><li>Ability to read and follow manuals, work instructions, job standards, and related documentation </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers, both verbally and in writing </li><li>Ability to maintain a customer-oriented approach in all tasks and interactions </li><li>Ability to use basic computer skills to input data, navigate systems, and complete documentation</li></ul></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>Preferred Experience</b></H2></div><div><div><p>• Experience working under a microscope, soldering, and/or performing precision mixing/application of adhesives is preferred, but not required.</p></div></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>What STERIS Offers</b></H2></div><div><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>Competitive pay ($21.50 an hour) + opportunity for pay increase after 6 months in role </p></li><li><p>Overtime opportunity</p></li><li><p>Annual merit review and a bonus plan</p></li><li><p>Opportunities for advancement through multiple levels of technician as you learn </p></li><li><p>Extensive hands-on training and development</p></li><li><p>Medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401(k) with a company match, tuition assistance, and paid vacation time and paid holidays</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><span style="color: white;">#LI-DL1</span></p></div></div></div> <p><span style="color:black">Pay rate for this opportunity is $21.50/hour to start.
