Machinist - Night Shift

<div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>Position Summary</b></H2></div><div><p>As a Machinist you will be responsible to machine quality parts in a cost effective manner which will be used in the production of surgical equipment and related items and/or contracted business.</p><p> </p><p>Shift: 7:00pm - 5:30am Monday-Thursday </p><p> </p></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>What you will do as a Machinist</b></H2></div><div><p>Consistent proficiency in setting up and effectively operating a multitude of CNC and Conventional machines such as Mills, Lathes, Grinders etc., while effectively maintaining the specified print tolerances noted.<br />Calculate and set machine controls to regulate machining repeatability such as speeds, feeds, overrides. The ability to enter command codes to retrieve machine data for program restarts and alarms.<br />Read and interpret STERIS® blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including<br />Written process documents, travelers, and other working documents.<br />Use precision measuring devices, gages, instruments to thoroughly inspect and insure that parts meet the print tolerances and in process dimensions.<br />Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all the required safety equipment for your work area.

Conform to all safety rules and policies stated in the employee handbook.<br />Keep and maintain a clean and orderly work environment while instituting the 5S principles of Lean Manufacturing.<br />Immediately report any and all safety related issues ,irregularities, and discrepancies relating to job functions and assignments.<br />Complete any and all job functions, assignments and duties in a timely but safe manner.<br />Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Employee handbook, Bulletin<br />Boards, Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS Management.<br />The ability to apply tool life management for determining premature tool wear for all necessary tools, inserts, etc. at the work center.</p></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>The Experience, Skills and Abilities</b></H2></div><div><p>Required:</p><p>High school graduate or GED required, technical degree preferred.<br />Ability to set-up and operate CNC and conventional Lathes and Mills.<br />Ability to read and interpret current engineering blueprints and production specifications.<br />Ability to use precision measuring instruments and gages such as calipers and micrometers.<br />Strong math skills and the ability to apply them.<br />Minimum two years machinist experience.<br />Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused<br />Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the leadership team<br />Assist with training other operators.<br />Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both written and oral.<br />Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements.<br />Ability to work with others.</p><p> </p><p><br />Other:</p><p>Willingness to work overtime, if required.<br />Knowledge, understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Kanban Inventory,<br />Visual Management, Waste elimination, and Root Cause Problem Solving are preferred.</p></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'><b>What STERIS Offers</b></H2></div><div><p>We Value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your heath, well-being, and financial future.</p><p>Here is just a brief overview of what we offer:</p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;" type="disc"><li>Market Competitive Pay</li><li>Extensive Paid Time Off and (9) added holidays</li><li>Long/short Term disability coverage</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Maternity & Paternal Leave</li><li>Additional add-ons benefits/discounts for programs such as Pet Insurance</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement and continues educations programs</li></ul></div></div></div> <p>Pay range for this opportunity is $23.49 - $30.40. <span style="color:black">This position is eligible for bonus participation.</span></p><p> </p><p>Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
