
Supervisor, Production I
<div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'>Position Summary</H2></div><div><p>Leads a team of skilled and semi-skilled associates engaged in production, maintenance, and warehousing activities within the AST business. Has authority and accountability to select, train, coach, and direct the workforce while effectively utilizing key Company processes to achieve operational results.
Responsible for driving employee engagement and fostering a positive employee relations environment. This role is typically held by an entry-level or early-career leader who is developing initial operations management experience at STERIS.</p></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'>Duties</H2></div><div><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develops and sustains a shop floor culture focused on achieving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives through standard work, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.</li><li>Leads daily SQDC board meetings; trains and develops employees to meet performance expectations; monitors key performance indicators (KPIs); ensures a safe working environment through direct observation of behaviors and equipment; responds to, mitigates, and investigates operational incidents; and provides individual and team feedback to reinforce performance and drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Serves as the first point of contact for issues related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost, driving timely resolution and implementation of appropriate countermeasures.</li><li>Supports the Company's Lean Business System by participating in Kaizen events, IDEaS generation and implementation, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), One Team One Goal (OTOG) Customer Service training, the "What's in the Box?" product orientation program, and facility Lean committees.</li><li>Drives employee engagement by fostering a safe, productive, and positive work environment; listening to and addressing employee concerns; consistently applying Company policies; and constructively managing employee performance.
In unionized facilities, or where works councils are present, understands and administers collective bargaining agreements, shop agreements, and plant rules. (70%)</li><li>Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new employees; ensures the team has the necessary skills, tools, and staffing to meet operational objectives; assigns daily work to achieve customer requirements; regularly assesses employee skills and performance; and provides coaching and development to ensure associates consistently meet expectations. (20%)</li><li>Ensures effective shift transitions through workforce planning and cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Human Resources, Planning, Maintenance, and other business partners. (10%)</li><li>Participates in and supports customer quality audits and internal and external One Team One Goal (OTOG) initiatives.</li><li>Monitors processing activities throughout the shift to ensure safety, quality, and delivery objectives are achieved, including procedural verifications, dosimeter re-reads, KPI tracking, and SQDC board updates.</li><li>Accountable for operational performance within the assigned area, including:<ul style="list-style-type: circle;"><li>Production: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Employee Relations.</li><li>Maintenance: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Employee Relations, Equipment Performance, Preventive Maintenance, and Project Activities.</li><li>Warehouse: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Equipment Maintenance, and Employee Relations.</li></ul></li></ul></div></div><div style='padding: 10px 0px;border: 1px solid transparent;'><div style='font-size:16px;word-wrap: break-word;'><H2 style='font-size: 1em; margin: 0px'>Required Experience</H2></div><div><p> </p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of industrial or other relevant work experience (leadership experience not required).
