In this hands-on, customer-facing role, you will serve as a trusted resource for the hospital’s Sterile Processing Department, Operating Room team, and Biomedical staff by ensuring KARL STORZ equipment is maintained, available, and ready for use. You will play a key role in supporting patient care by managing device inspections, troubleshooting equipment issues, facilitating repairs, and providing education and training to clinical teams.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, building relationships, and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This is a full-time onsite position with a shift schedule of 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, supporting a designated customer location in the Atlanta, GA area.
What You'll Do Provide onsite support to Operating Room, Sterile Processing Department, and Biomedical teams regarding KARL STORZ instruments, video systems, and related equipment. Perform routine inspection, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and functional testing of KARL STORZ devices to ensure optimal performance and readiness.
Manage repair and replacement processes, document equipment functionality, monitor repair activity, and maintain inventory within established account budgets. Support the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of KARL STORZ video towers and systems during clinical procedures when needed.
Educate and train hospital staff on the proper handling, care, and use of KARL STORZ products and services. Identify workflow and process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, reduce repair costs, and improve equipment utilization.
Coordinate the transportation, cleaning, sterilization, packaging, and readiness of instruments following clinical use. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent required. 0 to 4 years of experience in medical device repair, medical device service, healthcare support, sterile processing, sales support, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for reporting and documentation. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
Ability to successfully complete a drug screening for this safety-sensitive position. Nice to Have Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification. Experience working within a hospital, surgery center, operating room, sterile processing department, or biomedical environment.
Familiarity with endoscopic instruments, surgical equipment, or video imaging systems. What Will Make You Successful A collaborative, service-oriented approach to supporting customers and clinical teams.
