Your Role
The Wastewater Technician will provide operational and maintenance support to MilliporeSigma’s wastewater treatment plant in Jaffrey, NH to ensure compliance with discharge permit requirements and the support of manufacturing processes. In addition, the Wastewater Technician will provide will part of a team responsible for treatment systems consisting of anaerobic digestion, aerobic treatment, and membrane bio reactors (MBRs). This includes all associated pumps and lift stations. This technician is responsible for working Sunday – Wednesday, 6AM-4:30PM.

Perform critical sampling and analysis of wastewater facility operations, such as biological oxygen demand, total suspended solids, and pH to evaluate treatment system health and regulatory compliance

Perform preventative maintenance on treatment system components such as pumps, valves, blowers, pH probes, etc.

Collection and preparation of samples for third-party laboratory evaluation

Maintain required wastewater records, logs and checklists of facility operations

Assist in maintaining monthly air emission logs and calculations

Support stormwater and SPCC inspections

Work conscientiously, adhere to EH&S policies and processes, and be aware of safety hazards and participate in 24 hour on-call rotation

Troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, lighting/electrical issues with assistance from the Facilities group

Collaborates with manufacturing teams to manage wastewater flows and operational conditions, coordinates non-hazardous wastewater shipments to third-party facilities, supports chemical deliveries, performs confined space and elevated work when needed, and reports operational issues or plant changes to management while assisting with additional assigned duties.

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies (Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Policy, Natural Resources Management, Ecology).

1+ yearss of experience in wastewater operations

OR

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ experience in wastewater operations or environmental position

Valid driver’s license

Physical Attributes

Lift 50 lbs

Stand, bend, walk for 8 hour periods

Comfortable with ladder use and work at heights

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SCADA systems

Proficiency maintaining electrical systems

Massachusetts Industrial Wastewater License

Powered Industrial Vehicle Operator

Technical and mechanical experience

Works collaboratively with team members

Proficiency with excel, power point, etc.

Familiarity with basic principles of aerobic and anaerobic wastewater treatment

Pay Range for this position: $27- $41 per hour
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
