
The Head of IT / Senior IT Business Partner provides strategic leadership and acts as the primary interface between IT and the Benelux and France business units, ensuring that IT services, solutions, and transformation initiatives support business objectives and deliver measurable value.
The role combines strategic business partnering with operational IT leadership. While driving regional IT strategy, demand management, governance, and service performance, the Head of IT also provides hands-on support where required, particularly at smaller or remote locations, ensuring business continuity and a consistently high level of IT service.
Working closely with Country Management, Laboratory Leadership, Group IT, Infrastructure teams, vendors, and the Lead IT Field Support Engineer, the role ensures reliable IT operations, successful project delivery, compliance with Group standards, and continuous improvement across the region.
Act as the trusted IT advisor for business leadership across Benelux and France.
Translate business needs into IT roadmaps, investment plans, and digital transformation initiatives.
Drive standardisation while balancing local business and regulatory requirements.
Manage and prioritise regional IT demand in alignment with business priorities and Group IT strategy.
Lead IT input into annual planning, budgeting, and technology roadmaps.
Ensure compliance with Group governance, security, architecture, and regulatory standards.
Own business-facing IT service performance and user satisfaction.
Monitor service levels, major incidents, and continual service improvement.
Oversee successful delivery and adoption of IT projects and operational changes.
Build strong relationships with business leaders, operational teams, vendors, and Group IT.
Communicate priorities, risks, progress, and outcomes effectively across stakeholders.
Support vendor performance, contract alignment, and regional resource planning.
Lead and mentor regional IT-facing teams and Business Analysts.
Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and adoption of best practices across the region.
Promote a collaborative, customer-focused, and high-performing IT culture.
Deliver a professional, customer‑focused service to laboratory staff and business users.
Communicate clearly with users regarding progress, resolution, and next steps.
Build positive working relationships with site staff and IT colleagues.
What we think is needed to be successful in this role:
7+ years of experience in an IT Field Service, Desktop Support, or similar end user support role. Additionally 3+ years of experience as a IT Business Partner.
Strong working knowledge of:
Windows desktops and laptops
Common end user applications and peripherals
Hardware break/fix and troubleshooting
Good customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
Organised, reliable and detail oriented.
Ability to work under pressure.
European driving license (and the ability and willingness to travel between sites).
Experience supporting laboratory, forensic, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
Knowledge of ITIL based service management practices.
Experience with asset management and ticketing systems.
Relevant IT certifications or technical training.
