This role is part of Alcon's Project Management function, a team that ensures all regular and one-off projects are planned, organized, and executed effectively to help our people and the world see brilliantly.The Principal I, Project/Program Management (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for leading project teams in IT/Engineering/Scientific projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly completion while meeting technical and quality standards.

You'll drive problem-solving and innovation using scientific principles. Specifics Include: • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership • Lead and manage projects, shaping strategies and making informed decisions • Engage in research, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the organization and industry • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive innovation, improve processes, and contribute to the organization's growth and success • Lead and direct project teams in the design, implementation, and modification of technical projects • Prepare project execution plans and identify necessary technical and business resources • Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet technical, quality, and scope requirements • Stay current on advances in the field of IT and changes in the organization’s business processes • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams • Interface with stakeholders and vendors to ensure requirements are met, resolve issues, and assess risk and change management needs • Adhere to all IT governance policies and procedures • Analyze chemical, biological, or microbiological products and materials for compliance with standards and regulations, interpreting and evaluating analyses for accuracy and precision, and recommending corrective actions as needed • Develop, validate, and implement controlled environment methods, applying existing techniques and procedures, and recommending and implementing modifications for improved efficiency • Perform qualitative tests or quantitative assays using standard to advanced instrumentation • Establish requirements for transferring methodology from Research and Development • Write analytical and protocol reports and standard operating procedures • Maintain lab equipment and prepare quality reagentsAll associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
