These hardware products have generated almost 100M lifesaving alerts to protect industrial workers in dangerous situations.</p> <p>The Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer/Technician is a skilled engineering engineer/technician professional who assists the engineering team with the design of large-scale mechanical engineering projects.
This person acts as a hands-on technician working to ensure one or several engineering projects are completed successfully in a required time frame while maintaining the highest quality standards.</p> <p>As a Senior Engineer/Technician you would be held to high standards of performance in all areas, both technical and professional, serve as a role model to other technicians and fostering collaboration throughout the entire company. You would be joining a team and organization that embraces open collaboration and teamwork, undertakes agile development, supports an inclusive and diverse workplace, provides opportunities and learning and growth – all while enjoying the mission focused work on eliminating death on the job by 2050.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>This position is responsible for testing components and designs throughout the Product Development life cycle.
This position is expected to work closely with various groups to fully assure a properly designed product from concept to production.</p> <p>The duties may include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Conducting sub-system tests and completing appropriate technical reports.</li> <li>Collaborates on test plans, understands requirements, and leads review of test outcomes. Able to execute problem-solving strategies when a test is not working within parameters.</li> <li>Recording test results and presents data with a clear and professional appearance to be reviewed with the Designing Engineer.</li> <li>Applies experience and skills to construction and evaluation of prototype designs.</li> <li>Participates in design reviews.</li> <li>Investigate test failures and work with the design Engineer towards resolution with moderate supervision and assistance.</li> <li>Reads and understands schematics and mechanical drawings.</li> <li>Utilizes and adapts conventional techniques to problem solve and troubleshoot.</li> <li>Ensure test equipment is ready and calibrated, inventory gas cylinders, influence lab safety procedures, maintain chambers and equipment, and handle environmental management including recycling and hazardous waste.</li> <li>Participates in testing teams on project activities.</li> <li>Participating on cross-functional product development teams.</li> <li>Maintaining a clean and orderly lab environment.</li> </ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BE, BTech with 3+yrs of Experience or Diploma with 5+yrs of experience from an accredited engineering college or university or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Developed skills in the usage of laboratory test equipment (i.e.
EMC & OTA equipment, oscilloscope, etc.)</li> <li>Developed mechanical assembly and electronics skills.</li> <li>Developed soldering skills.</li> <li>Able to work independently or in team environments with limited supervision.</li> <li>Able to use Oracle/iProcurement/Mobus/Windchill/JIRA/JAMA.</li> <li>Able to commit to and work under deadlines.</li> <li>Effective written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Strict adherence to detail.</li> </ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Significant depth in 3 technical specialties– Gas testing, EMC, drop, vibration….</li> <li>Experience with environmental testing (Temperature /Humidity)</li> <li>Experience with product meeting UL, CSA, IECEx, CE and ATEX approvals.</li> <li>Experience working wireless communication devices.</li> </ul><p><strong>Fortive Corporation Overview</strong></p><p>Fortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
