For further expansion of our Research and Discovery team, we are seeking a motivated Junior or Associate Scientist with hands-on laboratory experience to join our R&D team at our facility in Zwijnaarde.

The candidate should have a strong drive to generate high-quality results in close collaboration with other members of the project team in a professional and challenging environment. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on the discovery and development of innovative antibody-based therapies in a dynamic, collaborative, and scientifically stimulating environment.

Work description Responsibilities: Support the production and characterization of therapeutic antibodies and other protein-based drug candidates, Perform biochemical, biophysical, and immunological assays (e.g., ELISA, SPR/BLI, SDS-PAGE, HPLC-SEC, cell-based functional assays, flow cytometry), Develop, refine, and validate in vitro assays in line with project objectives, Maintain high-quality laboratory practices and accurate documentation, Contribute to introducing and implementing new methodologies within the team, Independently plan and execute experiments with thorough and accurate documentation, Analyze and interpret data with rigor and strong attention to detail, and communicate findings to project teams, Provide clear input to data summaries, project meetings, and study reports, Collaborate effectively within project teams, managing priorities and workflows efficiently, Continuously learn new techniques and share expertise with colleagues, Coordinate materials, samples, and interactions with internal stakeholders and external partners/CROs, Address unexpected challenges with creativity and problem-solving skills, Support the characterization of protein function, binding, mechanism of action, and developability using state-of-the-art in vitro technologies,(proposed addition) Collaborate closely with scientists from multiple disciplines, including Discovery, Preclinical Development, CMC, and external partners to advance drug development programs. Profile Master Degree in Science (Industrial Engineer), Biochemistry/Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or equivalent, or Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology with at least 2 years of relevant experience, Prior laboratory experience in an academic or industrial setting is an advantage, Experience in antibody engineering and biochemical, biophysical, and immunological assays (e.g., multiparameter flow cytometry experiments) is an advantage, Strong team player with motivation, enthusiasm, accuracy in execution and reporting, and the ability to manage parallel workflows, Effective communication skills, Good oral and written English skills, our working language, Able to operate in a dynamic environment of a fast-growing biotech company with challenging timelines, Hands-on laboratory mindset combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Eager to learn, take ownership, and grow within a collaborative scientific environment.

The hiring range displayed above is the range of possible base pay compensation that argenx believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting.

The hiring range is based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills. argenx may pay more or less than the posted range and this range may be modified in the future.
