JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Job Function: Responsible for the purchasing, continuity of supply, Supplier Relationship management and stakeholder alignment activities for all categories and subcategories consisting of multiple business units and geographical areas. Lead “One Abbott Procurement” vision across divisions globally and drive synergies among divisions.

Work closely with key stakeholders in both Corporate and Division organizations to develop effective end to end strategies and execute plans and performance metrics. Nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and deliver best in class sourcing and procurement solutions.

Leverage extensive market and supplier relationships to enhance margin and elevate financial performance. Be recognized by the industry and community as thought leaders and change agents.

Proactively identifies new business opportunities, process improvement, cost efficiencies and innovative solutions. Provides insight to the business unit(s) on how to best develop and leverage Supplier capabilities for the organization(s).

Primary point of contact for overall category leads. Responsible for prioritizing demand globally across the category Core Job Responsibilities: • Assists in developing category strategy and translates business strategy in an aligned One Procurement strategy. • Champions change and innovation • Stimulates creativity and innovation in others • Open to new ideas • Initiates change and take measured risks by leading by example • Builds a culture of change management with One Procurement • Promotes a Global Perspective both internally and with external partners • Defines and champions category procurement strategy for Abbott – aligns and is the key enable for the overall strategy • Drives Total Cost of Ownership reductions for category through analytics and partnerships with both internal and external partners • Clearly defines category taxonomy and manage baseline • Coordinates across corporate functions, divisions, and supplier base to share best practices and adhere to guidelines • Anticipates the overall needs of multiple business units and complete supplier community and negotiates and influences an accepted portfolio meeting of the most strategic needs of the category • Ensures team measures and tracks both internal performance for Abbott users and key suppliers • Personally, provides feedback to internal senior leaders and key suppliers • Advises business unit(s) about similar strategies employed by other healthcare companies • Viewed by industry as subject matter expert • Consulted for benchmarking • Identifies and drives initiatives that span virtual teams across the world and cross cultures • Influences and partners with business leaders (VP level/ C Suite) to manage the category • Closely collaborates with adjacent business departments, and external partners to ensure adequate and timely delivery of agreed services, in line with agreed service levels. • Partners and collaborates with key One Procurement staff of other Abbott divisions to identify and assess initiatives, prioritize, and set efforts that support cross divisional business initiatives, and drive Procurement synergies and efficiencies. • MSA Negotiation: Negotiate all contractual terms related to product supply.

Work closely with legal function to appropriately address contractual requirements and language. • Consolidation of TPM network through site rationalization • Timely deliver the launch quantity of new product and then streamline the delivery process and and handover the product / sites to the Strategic sourcing and Tactical sourcing teams. • Carry out due diligence activities and identify and highlight related business risks, if any, for the Third-Party Manufacturer (s) prior to contract negotiation and finalization. • Ensuring Site Selection in adherence to internal TP Strategy and TP rationalization initiatives • Work on screening, evaluating, and executing Third Party Manufacturing contracts for all NPI products of Abbott EPD LATAM • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with current key category vendors as well as counterparts at other Healthcare/ Consumer companies to unlock maximum value from the category • Manage ongoing supplier relationships • Identify new opportunities for strategic relationships within the category vertical and potential collaboration with other category leaders • Creates purchasing strategies for category • Communicates vision and strategy for category • Fosters collaborative environment among stakeholders • Initiates, builds, and maintains strong relationships across various functions, demonstrates the value-add of leveraging and build enthusiasm and support for adoption • Identifies new opportunities for strategic relationships within the category vertical and potential collaboration with other category leaders • Ensures optimal balance between value for money and cost savings is achieved, while ensuring quality and excellent customer service • Promotes a culture of continual pursuit of cost reductions, but not at the risk of quality • Anticipates market changes and dynamics for category into strategy across regions to minimize impact to the organization • Fosters a team culture of constantly seeking opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance through cooperation across between internal and external partners • Sponsors business program management based on category expertise • Responsible for all aspects of people and team leadership, setting expectations, coaching, counselling, developing, evaluating, feedback, hiring, discipline and separation • Superior influencing skills both internally and externally • Determine necessary skills set • Works to continually enhance the current team capabilities through external influences and knowledge sharing and detailed succession planning • Leads by example • Addresses people issues in a constructive and timely manner • Responsible for overall morale of team and promotes cohesive attitude • Establishes staffing/ resources plans determining appropriate mix of sourcing opportunities • Responsible for overall organizational effectiveness • Works with external partnership to cultivate transparency and improve current team dynamics Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: Direct Reports: 8 Indirect Reports: 7-8 Lead cross-functional ProcurementTPM Governance within Abbott LATAM Position Accountability/Scope: • Has direct impact on budgets, expenses, and major project completion across multiple categories • Key Organizational Relationships: Corporate Head of Procurement, Commercial Head of Divisions, Manufacturing Head of Divisions, Functional Heads like CFO, Head of IT, Head of Legal, Division Purchasing Leadership, Division Commercial and Operations Stakeholders, Core and Lead Agents • Manages virtual team and project staff of up to 20-30 people • Directly manages up to 8 leads and managers • Minimum Education: • Bachelor degree, preferably in science, engineering or business management. MBA degree is beneficial Minimum Experience/Training Required: • 15 + years of procurement / TPM and global supply chain and experience • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable • Strong organizational skills, including program / project governance and increased levels of staff oversight • Direct experience leading governance boars of large multi-disciplinary projects • Strong communication and relationship skills to be able to work seamlessly with external partners • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) • Strong interdisciplinary and excellent intercultural influence and networking skills • Broad international experience and globally astute • Deep knowledge of markets by regions and anticipate trend impacts • World class supplier management • Evidence of participation in strategic industry forums • Strong ability to develop and execute against actionable implementation plans • Relevant business process and industry knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management • Broad knowledge of category technologies and products • Strong ability to influence multiple stakeholders with superior negotiating skills • Experience leading multiple teams – both with direct staff and indirect project teams Languages: • Proficiency in English, Spanish, Portugese • Other languages are advantageous Attitude / behaviour • Flexible, proactive, and motivated by the opportunity to optimize structures and processes • Ability to judge, combined with a persuasive power • Global and creative mind set and strategic orientation • Self-motivated team player with a positive “can-do” attitude.
