Job Description: The Head of Field Operations, Training, & Enablement provides enterprise leadership for field enablement, operations, and training strategy across Ipsen US Business Units. This role partners closely with Business Operations & Strategy (BOS) leadership to define and execute a cohesive field enablement agenda, including ownership of incentive compensation strategy and implementation for commercial field teams, and leadership of the Field Operations organization.
The role is accountable for the continuous advancement of Ipsen’s field training capability, working in close partnership with brand training leaders to strengthen both technical and skills-based training across all field functions. In addition, the Senior Director serves as a strategic liaison to the Ipsen Global Strategic Business Excellence team, driving alignment, best practice adoption, and scalable initiatives across regions.
The ideal candidate is a senior, enterprise-minded leader with a proven record of influencing across functions, leading complex change, and translating strategy into measurable commercial impact. This leader brings a strong field orientation, customer-centric mindset, and the ability to prioritize, align stakeholders, and drive disciplined execution against business priorities.
WHAT - Main Responsibilities Field Strategy & Enterprise Leadership Act as primary US Commercial Operations partner to Global teams, identifying synergies, scaling best practices, and supporting cross-regional initiatives. Ensure alignment of US Brand Planning expectations through collaboration with Finance, Forecasting, and Global Brand leadership.
Serve as enterprise leader for field operations and enablement strategy, partnering with BU Leads and BOS Leadership to define annual objectives, priorities, and success metrics across Ipsen US. Lead quarterly enterprise prioritization and performance reviews to remove barriers to execution, improve field effectiveness, and ensure alignment to commercial strategy.
Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams with an enterprise mindset, continuously evaluating organizational design to meet evolving business needs. Drive transparent communication and stakeholder engagement across BOS, BUs, and Global partners.
Incentive Compensation Strategy & Governance Own end-to-end incentive compensation strategy and governance for Oncology, Rare, Neuro, and Value & Access teams, ensuring alignment to commercial objectives, regulatory standards, and budget commitments. Lead the NA Incentive Compensation governance model, including audit processes, exception management, and executive review forums.
Partner with Global IC leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise guidelines while advocating for NA commercial needs. Provide regular executive-level insights on IC strategy, industry trends, and budget performance to NA leadership.
Commercial Excellence Lead Field Operations and Commercial Operations functions, including Fleet, Meetings & Events, and operational project management. Establish performance frameworks and KPIs for operational excellence across fleet, meetings, and field support functions.
Define and evolve field effectiveness KPIs to drive consistent improvements in execution quality across all US field teams. Key Account Management & Training Drive enterprise consistency and advancement of selling and Key Account Management capabilities for field teams and field leadership in partnership with BU and brand leaders.
Build coaching capability among field leaders to reinforce skill development and accountability beyond formal training events. Maximize adoption of KAM across all US field teams and lead evolution of KAM processes, including the transition from decentralized spreadsheets to a centralized tool (e.g., Veeva for KAM) that facilitates cross‑functional communication and streamlines logistics.
HOW - Knowledge & Experience Knowledge & Experience (essential): Minimum of 15 years of related experience, preferably in the Biopharmaceutical industry. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and projects, with and without authority.
Prior people management required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in matrix teams.
Prior experience in US market and launches strongly preferred. Deep understanding of US Pharmaceutical Regulatory and Compliance environment required.
Experience in US commercial operations within a biotech or pharma organization Demonstrated strong business analytics to understand and analyze business and market drivers and develop key performance indicators. Strong business and financial acumen with understanding of business KPIs Field (sales) or management experience to drive field enablement initiatives Thorough understanding of field training and field effectiveness assessment in the pharmaceutical industry Strong communication skills, including experience developing presentations for and presenting to executive audiences.
Enterprise level leadership with the ability to inspire, motivate and drive results Education / Certifications BA/BS in business administration or related field MBA or advanced degree is a plus Language(s) (essential): Fluent in English. Compensation The annual base salary range for this position is $177,000 - $260,000 This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
