The Role

As Senior Manager, Global Commercial Logistics, you will play a key role in establishing and leading the global commercial logistics capability supporting our growing portfolio and expanding global footprint.

You will be responsible for designing and optimizing the global logistics network, ensuring compliant and efficient distribution of commercial products to patients worldwide. In close collaboration with CMC, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, IT, Finance, and external logistics partners, you will drive logistics excellence through process standardization, digitalization, and continuous improvement.

This role serves as the Process Owner for Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and the SAP Sales & Distribution (SAP SD) module, ensuring scalable, compliant, and efficient global logistics operations.

Responsibilities

Global Commercial Logistics

Develop and execute the global commercial logistics strategy supporting product launches and market expansion

Design, establish, and continuously optimize global logistics and distribution networks

Lead logistics set-up activities for new markets, distribution centers, transportation lanes, and logistics service providers

Ensure reliable, cost-effective, and patient-centric distribution across global commercial markets

Support commercialization projects by defining logistics operating models and distribution solutions

Logistics Performance & Governance

Develop and own the Global Logistics Scorecard, establishing meaningful KPIs to monitor operational and strategic performance

Monitor logistics performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Support regular business reviews with logistics service providers and internal stakeholders

Establish governance processes for logistics performance, risk management, and service excellence

Compliance & Quality

Ensure global logistics operations comply with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), GxP requirements, applicable regulations, and Genmab Quality standards

Partner with Global Quality to support supplier qualification, transportation validation, temperature-controlled distribution, deviation investigations, and CAPA implementation

Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections related to commercial logistics

Partner with Finance to ensure compliant logistics processes supporting SOX controls, VAT, customs duties, and financial governance across the global distribution network

Transportation Management System (TMS)

Support the implementation of the global Transportation Management System (TMS) and serve as Global Process Owner for the TMS solution

Define business requirements and collaborate with IT during system design, testing, validation, deployment, and continuous enhancement

Drive standardization and optimization of transportation planning, shipment visibility, freight management, carrier performance, and logistics reporting

SAP Sales & Distribution (SAP SD)

Support the implementation of logistics-related SAP Sales & Distribution functionality supporting commercial operations and serve as Global Process Owner

Partner with IT and business stakeholders to continuously improve commercial logistics processes and system capabilities

Ensure harmonized global processes while supporting local market requirements

External Partner Management

Establish and maintain strategic relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers

Define service level agreements and performance expectations

Lead supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

Support logistics sourcing and contract negotiations in collaboration with Procurement

Cross-functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with CMC, Global Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Customer Service, Finance, and IT to ensure seamless product distribution

Provide logistics expertise for product launches, market expansions, strategic supply chain initiatives and cost saving opportunities

Requirements

Education

Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience

Significant experience in global commercial logistics or supply chain management within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industry

Demonstrated experience establishing and managing global logistics networks

Strong knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and pharmaceutical distribution requirements

Proven experience implementing and managing Transportation Management Systems

Promote best practices and foster collaboration across the global organization

Experience with ERP preferably SAP and the Sales & Distribution (SAP SD) module

Experience leading cross-functional global projects and driving organizational change

Experience managing external logistics service providers and transportation partners.

The proposed gross annual/hourly base salary range for this position, in the primary location, based on a full time schedule is:

The final salary offer will depend on several factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
