About Modular Medical

Modular Medical is a San Diego medical device company on a mission to bring insulin pump therapy to the people who have been left out of it. Roughly 70% of insulin-dependent adults are still on multiple daily injections — the “almost-pumpers” who have looked at traditional pumps and decided they were too complex, too bulky, or too expensive.

Our answer is Pivot, a tubeless insulin patch pump built from the ground up to be simple to learn, easy to live with, and affordable. Pivot received FDA 510(k) clearance and is now commercially available in the U.S., marking our transition from a development-stage company to a commercial one.

That transition is exactly where this role sits.

About the Role

We're looking for a Marketing Associate to help bring the Pivot story to patients, providers, and partners. You'll organize campaigns, create the content and collateral that carry our message across channels, and keep projects moving in close coordination with the team — all within the brand and regulatory standards that come with marketing an FDA-cleared medical device. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for an early-career marketer who writes well, has an eye for brand and design, sweats the details of compliant content, and is excited to work with modern tools — including generative AI — to do great work quickly.

If you want to help shape how a breakthrough product reaches the people who need it, read on.

What You'll Do

  • Organize and coordinate marketing campaigns across channels, keeping projects on schedule, on budget, and on brand
  • Write engaging, accurate copy for social media, email, blogs, website, and patient- and provider-facing materials — translating product and clinical information into clear, compelling messaging
  • Develop and maintain marketing collateral and sales enablement tools that equip our field team and support Pivot product launches
  • Help route materials through the medical, legal, and regulatory review process, keeping content aligned with FDA-cleared labeling, claim substantiation, and brand standards
  • Coordinate trade shows, conferences, webinars, and educational events — from logistics to post-event follow-up
  • Manage timelines and deliverables using tools such as Trello, Asana, Monday.com, or Microsoft Planner
  • Use generative AI tools to support content drafting and research
  • Create simple graphics using Canva, Adobe Express, or Figma, applying branding principles, visual hierarchy, and design consistency
  • Track campaign KPIs and gather market and competitive insights to report on what's working
  • Support CRM data and marketing lists (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot)
  • Present ideas confidently and collaborate across sales, clinical, product, and design teams

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or content creation (internship or agency experience considered)
  • Clear, engaging written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate technical or clinical information into simple messaging
  • Sharp attention to detail, especially when working within brand or regulated-content standards
  • A working understanding of branding principles, visual hierarchy, and design consistency
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Comfort using generative AI tools responsibly for content drafting and research
  • A collaborative approach that works well across sales, clinical, product, and design teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, or pharma, including familiarity with promotional/MLR review and FDA-cleared labeling
  • Familiarity with CRM and email/marketing-automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp)
  • Ability to maintain and support websites built with Webflow
  • Experience coordinating trade shows, conferences, or webinars
  • Basic experience with photo/video content or motion graphics
  • Understanding of social media analytics and campaign reporting

Compensation & Details

  • Salary range — San Diego: $25.00 – $32.00 commensurate with experience and location
  • Location: San Diego, CA or Cincinnati, OH (onsite/hybrid)
  • Travel: Minimal (up to 10%)
  • Classification: Full-time, regular; non-exempt
