DESCRIPTION Join our collaborative sales team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute as an Area Sales Manager. You will increase revenue and build lasting relationships with customers while representing our comprehensive portfolio of scientific products and services. How you will make an impact: Drive business growth across all market verticals, including Pharma, Biopharma, Life Sciences Research, Healthcare, Industrial, CTLs, Academia, government accounts, and the Food market Develop and implement strategic sales plans, manage key account relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction through consultative selling Lead and grow the sales funnel for assigned market verticals and product lines to ensure long-term business sustainability Focus on achieving business targets for direct bookings and revenue, aligning with overall organizational growth goals Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Service, Application, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing) to achieve organizational business objectives Take full responsibility for managing and growing your assigned sales territory Provide tailored solutions that meet customer needs while achieving sales targets through a combination of customer visits and virtual engagement Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by fostering positive relationships and addressing client needs, serving as a trusted advisor to help customers advance their scientific goals Prepare accurate sales forecasts, perform trend analysis, and achieve results to meet targets Diligently follow up on leads from other departments and keep the Lead Portal, Opportunity Funnel, and CRM systems updated Identify new key accounts, distributors/channel partners, and direct sales opportunities, and map the assigned area Stay informed about competitor activities, including pricing, offers, systems, and procedures, to maintain a competitive edge Implement marketing and advertising strategies in alignment with the plans set by the Marketing team Location-Specific Focus Areas: Indore (2 positions): Primarily focused on Capex sales, including high-value capital equipment Bhubaneswar (1 position): Focused on a combination of Opex and Capex sales with emphasis on technical applications in Oncology, Reproductive Health, and Forensic Science REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate/Post-graduate in Science, Technology, Food, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Biology or related scientific field Master's degree preferred MBA or equivalent experience in Marketing preferred Experience: Minimum 7+ years of sales experience in laboratory, scientific, healthcare, or pertinent industry sectors Demonstrated success in Sales, Marketing, and Business Development positions Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Good understanding of Capex sales; experience with Opex sales beneficial For Bhubaneswar role: Deeper technical knowledge and application expertise in Oncology, Reproductive Health, and Forensic Science to better understand customer workflows, identify needs, and provide effective scientific and business solutions For Bhubaneswar role: Understanding of core molecular techniques, including PCR, qPCR, Sanger Sequencing, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), and their applications across research, clinical, and forensic workflows Experience in driving tender as well as private business Previous experience in the applicable industry sector will be beneficial Exposure to business dealing in sales of high-value capital equipment is desirable Excellent negotiation skills to close sales Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers, customer service, and different levels of internal and external customers Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships at all levels Ability to understand complex product applications Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and MS Office suite Analytical and strategic planning capabilities Results-oriented with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment Good command over the English language; additional languages beneficial Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50-75% within assigned territory Commitment to Thermo Fisher's core values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement
