Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Surgical Pathologist/Cytopathologist to join our team in Birmingham, AL.

Work Schedule: Generally (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) Job Responsibilities Individual diagnostic evaluation and sign-out of surgical pathology and cytology cases, including a high volume of Gynecologic pathology specimens. Assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards Accurate and timely evaluation of specimens tested Assures good laboratory practice (GLP) and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies Provide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff, in person, by phone or electronically Minimum Qualifications Medical Degree from an accredited college/university AL & GA Licensed Physician Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Eligible to obtain LA, MS, TN & FL state medical licenses Additional Job Standards Experience in a high-volume hospital and/or large referral laboratory environment preferred Subspecialty Board Certification in Cytopathology is highly desired Experience in gynecologic pathology is highly desired Subspecialty training in Surgical Pathology is highly desired Subspecialty training or experience in ENT, Breast or Gastointestinal Pathology Organized and efficient problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills required At Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives. Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
