Your new role As an Intern in our Innovation Hub, you will play an active role in supporting and developing our workshop capabilities, with a particular focus on FDM 3D printing. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine practical engineering work with innovation, product development, and modern manufacturing technologies. You will gain valuable experience while working on projects that support laboratory and automation environments across the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the maintenance and optimisation of 3D printers and related workshop equipment. Setting up, monitoring, and managing 3D printing activities using FDM technologies. Assisting with CAD design tasks and contributing to product and component development.

Supporting machine design activities and engineering projects where required. Helping identify improvements and innovative solutions that enhance workshop performance and capabilities. The exact scope of your internship may vary depending on your interests, competencies, and the team's priorities, providing a flexible learning environment with exposure to different engineering disciplines.

Your new department In Research & Development, you'll be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools, and human data to develop transformative therapies. Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs.

You will join the additive manufacturing group within a technology engineering team that supports laboratories and automation teams through the design and manufacture of components and smaller machines. The team combines engineering expertise, practical problem-solving, and innovative thinking to develop solutions that contribute to operational excellence. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced colleagues while developing your technical expertise in an encouraging and collaborative environment.

Your skills and qualifications We are looking for a curious and motivated engineering student who enjoys learning, exploring new technologies, and working with practical engineering solutions. You thrive in a hands-on environment and are eager to develop both your technical and professional skills. To succeed in this role, we imagine that you: Are currently enrolled in an engineering programme or a related technical education.

Have knowledge of, or a strong interest in, 3D printing technologies. Possess experience with or knowledge of CAD modelling tools such as Fusion 360, Inventor, or SolidWorks. Demonstrate a creative, solution-oriented mindset when approaching technical challenges.

Are self-driven, responsible, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Experience with personal 3D printing projects or ownership of a 3D printer will be considered an advantage but is not a requirement.
