We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Entry-Level Quality Control (QC) Analytical Chemist to join our team in a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory at our Lonza site in Bend, Oregon.

What you will do: Routine Sample Testing: Execute testing for the release of raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished products, as well as execute sampling and testing of cleaning validation samples Laboratory Operations: Perform basic wet chemistry and laboratory operations while strictly adhering to safety and cGMP protocols. Instrumentation: Safely operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, Dissolution, etc.) to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis. Method Support: Assist in the development, validation, and/or transfer of analytical methods under the direct supervision of senior chemists.
Good Documentation Practices (GDP): Maintain accurate, ALCOA-compliant records and ensure thorough peer-review of laboratory notebooks. Quality Documentation: Draft, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Batch Testing Protocols (BTPs), and validation protocols (BTP-VALs) under direct supervision. Compliance & Auditing: Support laboratory compliance during internal and external audits by maintaining a clean, audit-ready work environment.
What we are looking for: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related scientific discipline. Knowledge: Foundational understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and cGMP regulations. Skills: Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and basic troubleshooting capabilities for analytical instrumentation.
Documentation: Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and electronic laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS). This role is fully on-site to foster close collaboration, active team engagement, and seamless daily operations .
