What's involved
This role is key to the improvement of production processes. Reporting to the Operations Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting Operations with continuous improvement initiatives, improving line efficiency, cost savings, quality control, and identifying areas for improvement using statistics and root cause analysis
Duties
Identifies and addresses opportunities to improve yield, reduce waste and costs, and enhance delivery
Collects data to support suggested improvements through time observations, Gemba Walks and report analysis
Leads troubleshooting projects to resolve complex operational issues
Prepare and support individuals throughout change to drive success
Manages project risks and issues effectively to minimise the impact on project success
Improves processes based on the data and evidence collected and demonstrates the justification and benefits to the management team
Ensures consistency of results by monitoring performance post-launch
Effectively manages numerous improvement projects simultaneously
Ensures timely and complete project delivery, including handover to appropriate teams
Demonstrates strong and positive leadership when managing organizational changes
Coordinates with departments to standardize and update procedures, ensuring compliance with the company's Quality Management System
Facilitates and potentially leads capital expenditure projects
Supports and manages established lean objectives and lean activities/events as necessary to support business goals
Ensures that all company policies and procedures (Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Environmental, Disciplinary, etc.) are adhered to at all times
Required experience
Essential
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment (preferably Lean Manufacturing)
A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within a Process Improvement role (Projects, Process Engineer)
Experience of managing projects, including stakeholder management
Full clean UK Driving Licence
To be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience of using a ERP system (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft 365, Sage)
Experience creating process flows and standard work
Be able to effectively negotiate, influence and collaborate at all levels through both excellent verbal and written communication
Desirable
Desirable – Working experience of Six Sigma and Lean
Desirable – Previous experience of using Oracle ERP system
Desirable – Project Management Qualification
