The Position Market Access Manager (12-month contract) Boehringer Ingelheim | Sydney, Australia | An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Market Access Manager to join our Market Access team on a 12-month contract (Maternity leave cover), based in Sydney, NSW and reporting to the Head of Market Access & Healthcare Affairs. This role offers a unique opportunity to be responsible for reimbursement for a key launch brand for Boehringer Ingelheim in Australia. Working within a highly collaborative environment, you will play a key role in ensuring innovation of new medicines are valued appropriate and positioned for successful reimbursement.

As a strategic market access partner, you will work collaborative with Medical, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy to drive access and prepare the team for a successful launch. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for a market access professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, influencing cross-functional decision-making, and contributing to the future success of Boehringer Ingelheim's innovative therapies. Key Responsibilities: Implement market access strategies for pipeline assets across Australia and New Zealand, aligned with local and global business objectives.

Lead reimbursement submissions, evidence-generation and value demonstration strategies to support PBS, MSAC and PHARMAC funding pathways. Work collaboratively with regional and corporate market access function in contributing to the annually business plan Identify evidence gaps and oversee the development of supporting evidence through research initiatives, including burden of disease, patient experience, quality of life and societal impact studies. Provide strategic advice relating to pricing and competitors in the market Management of monthly SPA invoicing and any related RSAs Generate strategic insights on reimbursement policy, payer priorities, competitive dynamics and market access trends to support business planning.

Contribute to payer engagement activities, including advisory boards and stakeholder consultations, to strengthen value propositions and access strategies. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between market access, regulatory, medical and commercial plans. Support reimbursement submissions throughout the asset lifecycle, including preparation for pre-submission meetings, submission development and post-submission activities.

Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, payers, clinicians and patient advocacy organisations. Contribute to PBAC submissions where required, including the development of key submission components in partnership with the broader Market Access team. Requirements: A degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.

At least 2-3 years of experience direct experience writing certain sections of submissions to the PBAC, and/or MSAC. Demonstrated experience developing and leading reimbursement submissions, particularly within PBAC and/or MSAC processes. Strong knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand healthcare systems, reimbursement pathways and policy environment.

A solid understanding of health economics and outcomes research, with the ability to critically evaluate economic models and evidence. Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex clinical and economic evidence into compelling value propositions for payers and decision makers. Experience influencing and collaborating with diverse cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment.
