Associate Director, Solution Architecture and Integration

Job Description

The Associate Director, Solution Architecture and Integration will be responsible for designing, building software, product-oriented-deliveries, and platforms to deliver state-of-the-art innovative solutions adhering to well-architected-frameworks and delivery standards for excellence in execution. This role will lead a skilled team, with the potential to expand, focusing on Cloud Application Engineering and Application Integration to achieve architectural and engineering excellence. Additional responsibilities include the following: Architecting the development of technical designs for Genmab Research Organization; conducting current-state analysis, gap analysis, capability analysis, and document reference architecture for various Research systems and data products.

Providing data architecture skills to support core solution architecting and integration of data sources, pipelines, and platforms, in collaboration with our Data & Analytics, and Data Science & AI colleagues. Collaborating with POD Managers, Product Owners and Business Leaders to execute high-level designs of solutions and ensure alignment with business and scientific objectives. Collaborating with other architects and IT&D functions to design and document innovative and optimal solutions for the R&D space.

Evaluating and selecting the best tools, platforms, and services for each solution, in alignment with Genmab's Enterprise standards, guidelines, and patterns, collaborating with our enterprise architecture function. Supporting prototyping and demonstrating the feasibility and alternatives of the proposed solutions. Leading and overseeing the implementation and deployment of the solutions, engaging domain architects and vendors as needed.

Liaising with AWS and other partners to leverage existing investments, tools, and technologies and bring in the best-in-breed, cost-effective and scalable solutions. Co-creating reusable and scalable technology components with other functional leaders; tracking, reviewing, and providing feedback to the development teams. Leveraging Agile methodologies and ensuring standards are met for test automation, quality, performance, security, and compliance.

Staying current on leading practices and modern technology trends in the fields of AI, ML, GenAI, NLP, data platforms, mesh architecture, high performance computing, infrastructure as code, etc. Managing complex problems and leading IT R&D projects. Adhering to the architecting principles and best practices within a regulated environment, dealing with GxP (GLP or GCP) data and systems.

The ability to design and implement innovative solutions. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.

Annual salary between: $261,248-$313,498.

Job Requirements

Requires at least a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Applied Data Science, or a related field plus 7 years of experience with cloud-solution architecture within the pharmaceutical industry. Must possess 7 years of experience with each of the following: (a) gathering and analyzing business and user requirements by working with business partners and downstream data consumers; (b) designing, developing, and configuring system and platform solutions within PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SaaS (Software as a Service) environments; (c) defining application consolidation approaches, integration patterns, and use of cloud infrastructure services to enable scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions; (d) ensuring that technical and detailed designs aligned with the architectural roadmap and conceptual solution architecture, maintaining traceability to functional and non-functional requirements; (e) reviewing technical design documents and providing peer-review feedback in coordination with cross functional technical teams; (f) designing and supporting system integrations and technical components for enterprise applications including using JSON; (g) performing technical assessments of platforms to determine suitability for functional, integration, and architectural requirements; (h) supporting technical discussions with vendors and internal teams and contributed to estimates and reviews of change requests; (i) automating data extraction and transformation processes using Shell Scripting, Python, SQL, and PL/SQL; and (j) utilizing all of the following: Agile Software Development; Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); AWS for data processing and large-volume workloads; Oracle to manage relational databases; and GitHub as a code repository. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
