Associate Consultant and Statistician, Statistics & Psychometrics – Patient Centered Solutions Overview IQVIA provides scientific services spanning clinical trials, real world evidence, and consulting in all areas of the product lifecycle. The Patient Centered Solutions (PCS) team specializes in generating robust evidence on patient experience across clinical development, regulatory submissions, and scientific dissemination. We are a diverse group of experts who work together to develop and psychometrically validate clinical outcome assessments that capture patients’ experience with their treatment or disease, and to evaluate treatment efficacy using the data generated from these assessments.

Our areas of expertise are broad and include qualitative research (e.g. interviews, focus groups), quantitative evaluation (e.g. clinical outcome assessments, preference research) and passive monitoring (e.g. digital health technology tools) approaches to understand patient, caregiver, and healthcare professional experiences and expectations. Your Role As an Associate Consultant in the PCS Statistics & Psychometrics group, you will participate in projects with statistical or psychometric analysis components under guidance of the project leads. You’ll have the opportunity to address challenging analytical and strategic problems and work across multiple geographies with a hands-on role in developing and delivering tailored solutions to our clients across the life sciences industry.

Key responsibilities: Directly contribute to achievement of project deliverables such as development of statistical analysis plans or psychometric analysis plans, design outputs shells, and perform statistical analysis (including SAS, R, and Mplus programming) to create statistical outputs. Assist with the interpretation of results, including development of statistical reports, psychometric reports, other technical reports, and summary results presentations.

Participate in internal and client-facing meetings and contribute to the communication of analytical findings to multidisciplinary audiences. Assist with wider results dissemination, including supporting abstracts and research presentation development. Assist in business development activities and support proposal writing.

Support the team’s ongoing development and learning by reviewing and summarizing relevant literature and contributing to methodology-focused discussions and trainings. Qualifications Required You have a: Master’s degree in (bio)statistics, psychometrics, outcomes research, mathematics, epidemiology, public health, pharmacy or closely related discipline, plus 1 year of experience in consulting, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or analytics. Bachelor's degree in (bio)statistics, psychometrics, outcomes research, mathematics, epidemiology, public health, pharmacy or closely related discipline, plus 2 years of experience in consulting, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or analytics.

You have at least basic knowledge of statistical methods that apply to clinical trials (such as descriptive analyses, regression analysis including linear, logistic, and mixed-effects models, survival analysis, missing data approaches etc.) and/or psychometric analysis methods (such as classical test theory [CTT], item response theory [IRT], exploratory and confirmatory factor models, structural equation modelling, etc.). You have programming experience with one or more statistical software packages such as SAS, R, or Mplus. You have strong analytical skills and interest in keeping up to date with proceedings on statistical methodology in relevant fields.

You are fluent in English and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. You are a confident writer with strong technical writing skills and ability to interpret and describe complex research results. You are proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and business productivity tools for project management and communication.

You are a team player and possess excellent interpersonal skills, especially in a virtual environment. You are curious and able to quickly build the knowledge needed for the specific disease area or methodological approach relevant to each project. You have excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow expected standards for documentation quality.

You are willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple tasks and projects. You demonstrate strong individual initiative and are comfortable taking responsibility for well-defined tasks. Preferred You have a good understanding of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare sectors.

You are familiar with consulting frameworks, health data analysis, and business research methodologies. You have experience working with data-driven projects and developing client-facing reports and presentations.
