The Senior Manager, Facilities Site Operations will be the primary internal customer interface for site facilities operations providing financial, site service, and project-related support within the New Brunswick Facilities Operations group at the New Brunswick site. This role will support service delivery of outsourced facility services and self-performed facility services. This position will be expected to utilize operational knowledge of facility business functions and requirements, including Environment Healthy & Safety (EHS), Security, Site Engineering, and soft and hard services.
Key Responsibilities
- ✓Serve as the primary internal customer interface for site facilities operations. Partner with the IFM service provider to achieve customer/site needs.
- ✓Ensure the interests of the customer are primary; act as champion for the customer.
- ✓Maintain frequent contact with managers/employees in other departments and/or customer representatives to coordinate activities concerning operational decisions and business requirements.
- ✓Provide leadership, guidance, and problem-solving skills to employees either within the department or through project/process coordination.
- ✓Perform work, conducting activities, and solving difficult or unusual problems.
- ✓Manage expense projects and “out of scope” contracts supporting site operations that are outside IFM scope.
- ✓Provide technical and administrative support for Soft & Hard Services managed through our external vendor.
- ✓Support development and management of the site operating budget. Track and report ongoing department expenditures versus budget and/or projections.
- ✓Serve as the primary customer of site engineering for site capital infrastructure projects, as well as development and execution of the capital expenditure (CAPX) plan.
- ✓Ensure proper commissioning and turnover of all capital projects to ensure customer needs are met.
- ✓Develop and ensure compliance with department SOPs, EHS policies and procedures, including corporate/division policies.
- ✓Serve as champion for site energy initiatives as well as ongoing energy consumption monitoring.
- ✓Serve as site owner for site shutdowns and primary customer interface for related activities.
- ✓Oversee site auditing as it relates to environmental health and safety in partnership with site EHS staff.
- ✓Utilize analytical skills to identify data inconsistencies, investigate the source, and propose solutions.
- ✓Maintain detailed and functional familiarity with facilities database systems and processes.
- ✓Provide oversight for service provider outcomes; verify performance and review site CPI/KPI/GPI, where applicable.
- ✓Coordinate site emergency response.
- ✓Administer company policies by making decisions on matters of day-to-day implementation and interpretation; must be able to influence others.
- ✓May be required to support other sites in the region.
Qualifications & Experience
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business-related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- ✓Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in operations, maintenance and service management of industrial buildings, research buildings, office systems, and utility plants.
- ✓Hands-on experience in the procurement, negotiation, and management of contracts with maintenance suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
- ✓Broad technical knowledge of facility operations, infrastructure, engineering, and systems in a life science research lab environment.
- ✓Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, multi-site responsibilities.
- ✓High level of interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, and the ability to influence.
- ✓Demonstrated leadership skills, sound business ethics, and ability to work in a team environment.
- ✓Demonstrated understanding of organizational structure, operating culture, effective work styles, and achieving results in an innovative environment.
- ✓Understanding of financial systems as they relate to management of a department’s budgets and expense tracking, including budget development, expense forecasting, SAP transactions, and cost tracking.
- ✓Understanding of the maintenance work order system (CMMS).
- ✓Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Ariba, SAP, Maximo, and SharePoint.
- ✓Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and industry practices such as GMPs, GLPs, AAALAC, IQ/OQ/PQ regulations, environmental regulations, building codes, ADA, and OSHA requirements.
- ✓Ability to identify and solve technical problems in very complex research systems.

Compensation Overview
New Brunswick - NJ - US: $112,500 - $136,321
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
- ✓Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
