Scientist I, Molecular and Cellular Biology About Site Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Scientist I, Molecular and Cellular Biology to join our team. In this role, you will focus on method evaluation, optimization, transfer, and validation activities under cGMP for large molecules and biologics product development.

You will also draft technical documents and support stability studies. This position involves hands-on laboratory work using advanced techniques in molecular and cellular biology. Shift: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift: 8AM-4:30PM Location: Kansas City, MO 100% Onsite The Role Read and follow standard operating procedures with attention to detail Train on 2-4 methods or techniques and perform ad hoc sample testing activities Participate with minimal guidance in method development, evaluation, optimization, transfer, and validation activities under cGMP Apply complex scientific and laboratory concepts and theories related to specific testing Train and coach peers on methods, laboratory instruments, and equipment Follow cGMP requirements for accurate and thorough documentation to meet regulatory compliance Draft and review technical documents such as methods, method forms, validation protocols, and technical reports with minimal guidance Adhere to policies, processes, and procedures for operating laboratory equipment safely and compliantly Become familiar with drug development milestones and their context Perform other duties as assigned The Candidate Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Physical Science with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in department-specific techniques, OR Master’s degree in a related Life Science or Physical Science field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in department-specific techniques, OR Doctorate degree in a related Life Science or Physical Science field; no work experience required Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift, pull, or push 0-40 pounds Preferred Skills & Background Advanced knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry, with broad knowledge of related fields Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks efficiently Flexibility to adjust daily work schedule and meet timelines as needed Ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrate critical thinking, and provide solutions Why You Should Join Catalent Defined career path and annual performance review and feedback process Diverse, inclusive culture Potential for career growth on an expanding team within an organization dedicated to preserving and bettering lives Competitive paid time off plus 8 paid holidays Community engagement and green initiatives Medical, dental, and vision benefits effective day one of employment Tuition reimbursement Catalent offers rewarding opportunities to further your career!
