Training Specialist I About Site Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100+ products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network.
Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Training Specialist I to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate, develop, implement, and maintain site-wide training programs that support employee onboarding, GMP compliance, operational excellence, and workforce development. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Safety, and Human Resources to ensure employees receive effective training and maintain the skills required to perform their roles safely and efficiently.
This position also manages training documentation and Learning Management System records while supporting leaders in identifying and addressing training needs across the site. Shift: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM Location: Winchester, KY 100% Onsite The Role Lead and facilitate new employee orientation programs Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure employees are successfully integrated into the organization Deliver introductory GMP, safety, quality, and compliance training Partner with hiring managers to ensure timely completion of onboarding requirements Support new employee engagement and early development initiatives Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Safety teams to identify training needs and develop effective training solutions Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs for manufacturing employees Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop training content for equipment, processes, standard operating procedures, and work instructions Monitor employee training progress and communicate completion status to department leaders Support initiatives that improve employee capability, quality performance, right-first-time execution, and operational efficiency Maintain and administer the site's Learning Management System and training records Ensure training curricula, assignments, and records remain current and compliant with regulatory and business requirements Coordinate periodic reviews and updates of training materials and curricula Generate compliance reports, training metrics, and status updates for leadership teams Maintain document control for training-related procedures, materials, and records Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, observations, and feedback Identify opportunities to improve training processes, tools, and content Other duties as assigned The Candidate Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Life Sciences, Business, or related field preferred High school diploma or GED required An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered Strong understanding of GMP, quality, compliance, and manufacturing operations Experience managing training records and learning management systems (ComplianceWire) Strong presentation and facilitation skills Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills Ability to develop training materials and instructional content Individual may be required to sit and stand for an extended period of time Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and frequent use of computer monitor Preferred Skills & Background Minimum 3 years of experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment preferred Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or operations training is strongly preferred Experience delivering training or facilitating group learning sessions preferred Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, consumer health, food, or other regulated manufacturing industries Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma exposure is a plus Why You Should Join Catalent Positive and fast-paced working environment focusing on continually improving processes to remain innovative and dynamic Competitive Paid Time Off plus 8 paid holidays Medical, dental, and vision benefits effective day one of employment Tuition Reimbursement – support to finish your degree or earn a new one Site-based Employee Engagement activities such as NCAA Basketball Brackets, Golf Scrambles, Annual Onsite Pet Adoption Events, and Mentorship Partnerships with Local Schools Employee Resource Groups focusing on Diversity and Inclusion Environmentally friendly, community engagement green initiatives including Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up Defined career path and annual performance review process with potential for career growth WellHub program to promote overall physical and mental wellness Perkspot offers exclusive or private discounts from approximately 900+ merchants in a wide array of categories Catalent offers rewarding opportunities to further your career!
