As a team member in our Manufacturing & Engineering (M&E) department, you will be responsible for the automation systems used in pharmaceutical production and packaging facilities.

Put your expertise to work and join our team at the Ludwigshafen site as an Automation Engineer (all genders).

Here, you will make a real impact. Specifically, you will

Ensure the availability of the various automation systems across the different production areas. In the event of a malfunction, you will act as the technical expert and, in close cooperation with other departments and the manufacturer, take all necessary measures to resolve the issue promptly and in compliance with GMP requirements.

Implement automation projects for pharmaceutical production facilities in a regulated environment throughout the entire system life cycle. You will work closely with business partners, external service providers, and suppliers, coordinate all stakeholders, and take on selected project management responsibilities.

Act as a subject-matter representative, working closely with Production, Maintenance, Equipment Engineering, Qualification, and Quality Assurance. You will also be a member of international project teams.

Develop proposals for long-term adaptations and the continuous improvement of control systems.

As part of capital investment projects, develop the design and requirements specifications for the automation of production facilities.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements relating to data integrity and data security, both for existing systems and new implementations.

Prepare, review, and approve the required technical and project-related documentation. You will also verify compliance with applicable standards, guidelines, and internal requirements. In addition to ensuring contractual performance, you will ensure compliance with GMP requirements.

Participate in inspections conducted by internal and external organizations within your area of responsibility.

  • Successfully completed a degree in engineering, such as Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Initial professional experience in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
  • Experience with PLC programming and visualization systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft client and server operating systems.
  • Knowledge of machine vision systems, such as Cognex, is desirable.
  • Experience designing and implementing automation projects is preferred.
  • Initial experience working in a GMP- and pharmaceutical environment is desirable.
  • Innovative, analytical, systematic, and results-oriented approach to work.
  • Hands-on mentality, strong initiative, and perseverance.
  • Practical, best-practice-oriented mindset and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of German and English in an international working environment.
