About the department The GSC&BD GBS unit is in Bengaluru, India, with our headquarters in Denmark. We are focused on consolidating supply chain activities and driving performance improvement.
As part of the Global Operational Planning team, our role involves continuous improvement of our operational planning processes and systems to ensure a balanced supply plan on a global scale. The atmosphere is dynamic and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on teamwork. The position As an MRP Controller within our Global Business Services (GBS) unit, you will play a critical role in ensuring continuous material availability for production-critical components.
You will be the vital link between planning, sourcing, and production identifying risks early, driving resolution, and keeping our global supply chain running smoothly. Your key responsibilities will include: Monitoring daily and weekly MRP signals, validating system-generated requirements, and ensuring accurate material availability for all incoming components Providing early alerts to the Sourcing team for components with long lead times, shortages, or supply risks, and tracking purchase requisitions and orders through to timely completion Identifying material shortages proactively, assessing production impact, and leading shortage review discussions with Sourcing, Planning, and Production teams escalating critical situations with clear risk analysis and mitigation plans Maintaining and reporting on KPIs including material availability, supplier on-time delivery, MRP exception closures, shortage resolution lead time, and inventory health metrics Coordinating with Production, Planning, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless material flow, and supporting new product introductions from a material readiness perspective Ensuring accuracy of master data parameters (lead time, MOQ, safety stock) in the MRP system and driving corrections in collaboration with Planning and Master Data teams Supporting global supply chain functions in offshored planning processes and training colleagues to build capability across the team Qualifications: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented planning professional who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. You will bring with you: A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Production, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from a well-recognised institute, with a strong academic track record 6+ years of experience working with planning and support functions, with a solid understanding of supply chain concepts (Plan, Make, Source, Deliver, Return and supporting master data) Hands-on SAP ECC/R3 experience (mandatory); OMP experience within Supply Chain is an added advantage Strong analytical skills with the ability to process data, identify trends, and drive decisions in offshored planning processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to build dashboards and reports for stakeholder communication Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the confidence to escalate critical supply issues clearly and constructively Working at Novo Nordisk Every day we seek the solutions that defeat serious chronic diseases.
