This is an opportunity to help advance strategic priorities across Research & Development at Novo Nordisk, working with senior stakeholders and cross-value-chain colleagues to turn direction into meaningful progress. Your new role As Strategy Director in the Strategy and Project Management Office, you will play a key role in enabling effective strategy design and implementation across Research & Development.

You will work with a high degree of independence, navigating complex content and stakeholder landscapes while helping teams translate strategic ambitions into clear priorities, deliverables and impact. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and facilitating key strategic projects that support Research & Development’s business priorities, bringing enterprise thinking and value-chain understanding into the work. Providing subject matter expertise in strategy design, implementation and related activities, including trend assessments, situational analyses, strategic choices and implementation planning.

Ensuring consistency, efficiency and a unified direction in how strategic projects are designed, prioritised and implemented. Partnering closely with key Research & Development stakeholders to shape and deliver strategic management deliverables across executive and senior leadership areas. Supporting leaders and teams with sparring on short-, mid- and long-term business strategies, project plans and implementation activities that enable business continuity and impactful results.

You will also help integrate insights across the Strategy and Project Management Office and may act as a mentor to more junior colleagues, students, graduates or colleagues on rotation. Your new department In Research & Development, you’ll be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools and human data to develop transformative therapies.

Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs. You will join the Strategy and Project Management Office, part of Research & Development Portfolio Strategy and Project Leadership. The team enables strategic design and implementation across Research & Development, working closely with stakeholders across Novo Nordisk’s value chain to support strategic priorities with quality, speed and impact.

Your skills and qualifications We are looking for a strategic, collaborative and experienced profile who can work confidently in a complex global organisation. You bring strong business judgement, the ability to influence across levels and a genuine interest in advancing Research & Development priorities through clear strategy and strong execution. To succeed in this role, you have: A master’s degree, PhD or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.

8–10 years of experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry and in drug research and development. Proven experience creating business strategies, developing strategic priorities and managing complex, cross-functional bodies of work. Strong knowledge of strategy management methodologies and practices, combined with the ability to solve complex problems and recommend best practices.

Experience with stakeholder management, risk management and influencing across diverse project teams and organisational levels. Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000 to 1,448,700 DKK (DK), corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
