Your Team As a Quality Technician - Micro, you will be part of Baxter's Quality organization, supporting microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, sterilization studies, and laboratory operations that help ensure product quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to maintain compliance with Baxter standards, FDA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). What You'll Be Doing Perform Environmental Monitoring activities, including non-viable particle monitoring of controlled rooms, compressed air systems, and differential pressure testing.
Conduct sterilization studies, validation protocols, and regulatory assessments as required. Perform growth promotion testing of culture media and support microbiological laboratory testing activities. Maintain control of laboratory materials, reagents, media, sampling equipment, and waste inventories through routine inventory management.
Ensure proper disposal of toxic agents in accordance with company policies and environmental requirements. Support laboratory and production sterilization autoclave qualification studies. Complete testing activities, special projects, validation protocols, and assigned studies within established timelines.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine care of laboratory equipment as required. Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when applicable. Accurately complete, review, analyze, and maintain laboratory documentation and records in compliance with quality standards.
Assist in the training and onboarding of new laboratory technicians and team members. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work environment. Ensure compliance with Baxter policies, specifications, SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), FDA regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Medical Technology, Biotechnology, or another related Science discipline. Previous laboratory or microbiology experience is preferred. Knowledge of microbiological testing techniques and laboratory practices.
Ability to work effectively in a regulated manufacturing and laboratory environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Technical Skills Basic knowledge of microbiological laboratory equipment and environmental monitoring techniques. Ability to perform calculations involving percentages, proportions, volumes, and basic statistical concepts. Proficiency in documenting and analyzing laboratory data.
