About this role
The Role: Moderna is seeking an Associate Director – SAP Internal Warehousing and Serialization to lead the strategy, roadmap, delivery, and support of the digital capabilities supporting internal warehousing and pharmaceutical serialization. This role will own SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), SAP Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals (ATTP), and SAP Information Collaboration Hub for Life Sciences (ICH). The Associate Director will combine product ownership, SAP solution leadership, delivery management, and people leadership.
This individual will work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Digital teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable solutions. The role will lead a team of internal employees and external service providers and will be accountable for roadmap delivery, operational performance, budget, vendor management, and business value realization. Here’s What You’ll Do: Define and execute multiyear data internal warehouse and serialization strategy Lead the internal warehouse and serialization team (internal FTEs and service providers) Prioritize with business leaders, and track value realization (service, cost, working capital, and compliance).
Define and execute the multiyear roadmap for internal warehousing and serialization capabilities. Serve as the Digital product owner for SAP EWM, ATTP, and ICH. Partner with business leaders to prioritize requirements, compliance needs, operational improvements, and technology investments.
Lead the internal warehousing and serialization team, including employees, contractors, and service providers. Work closely with the rest of your digital colleagues (Manufacturing, Quality, Master Data, Sales & Distribution, Finance, etc…) to define fully integrated solution. Oversee solution design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Ensure effective integration between SAP EWM, ATTP, ICH, SAP S/4HANA, manufacturing systems, packaging lines, logistics providers, and external partners. Drive improvements in warehouse execution, inventory accuracy, material flow, traceability, serialization compliance, and operational resilience. Ensure solutions comply with GxP, data integrity, cybersecurity, validation, and change-control requirements.
Manage application performance, incidents, upgrades, technical debt, and continuous improvement. Establish and monitor KPIs related to service, compliance, system reliability, productivity, cost, and user adoption. Manage vendors, budgets, resources, risks, and delivery commitments.
Evaluate relevant SAP innovations, including SAP Business Technology Platform, automation, analytics, and SAP Joule. Communicate roadmap, progress, risks, and value realization to business and Digital leadership. Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
10 or more years of experience delivering enterprise technology or SAP solutions. Strong experience with SAP EWM implementations, enhancements, or application management. Understanding of pharmaceutical serialization and traceability, preferably using SAP ATTP and SAP ICH.
Strong understanding of warehouse processes, including receiving, putaway, inventory management, material staging, picking, packing, and shipping. Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC and integration of EWM or WM/HUM with others modules such as MM, PP, QM, and SD. Experience integrating SAP with manufacturing systems, packaging lines, logistics providers, and external partners.
Experience leading teams, vendors, and cross-functional technology programs. Experience working in a regulated environment and supporting GxP systems. Strong stakeholder management, communication, delivery, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to operate strategically while remaining sufficiently hands-on to guide solution design and resolve complex issues. Experience with warehouse automation, barcode technologies, mobile devices, printing, robotics, or material-handling systems. Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform Familiarity with SAP Joule or other AI-enabled capabilities supporting SAP processes.
Experience leading global SAP deployments or building high-performing teams Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or another regulated industry. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
