Discover Impactful Work: Join our close-knit Chemical Management team in Unity Lab Services, where we provide integrated lab services, support, and supply management tailored to our customers' unique needs. You will serve as the first point of contact for Chemical Management, Shipping and Ordering as well as Recycling Coordination to help our clients focus on research. You will also provide cross-coverage in other logistic tasks for the site as needed.

You will promote a safe and constantly improving work environment by participating in site safety programs, cost savings analysis, and process improvement initiatives. A day in the Life: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Chemical Management: register incoming chemicals and gas cylinders to internal system library, coordinate pickups, perform monthly chemical inventory in lab areas, remove registered materials from the system upon disposal, coordinate HHM disposal. Shipping: Support domestic and international shipping operations, including courier communications, packing, labeling and administrative process for shipment in compliance with requirement.

Dry Ice Management: Perform dry ice order placement and replenishment at designated locations. Ensure adequate stock per container size and timely deliveries. Inventory Ordering: Place orders based on inventory scan results and client requests to maintain appropriate onsite point of use inventory levels and support client needs.

Recycling Coordination: Prepare and organize materials for recycling, including setting up collection boxes on pallets, packaging full boxes with required documentation, and coordinating pickups with offsite vendors. Receiving: receive and store incoming biological samples in appropriate temperature locations, handle dry ice, and collapse or recycle packaging material as needed. Pipette Management: coordinate on site and off site pipette servicing by collecting pipettes, record details in log, and contact vendor to facilitate visit or ship to warehouse.

Glasswash and Autoclave: perform daily pickup of dirty glassware from labs, run washer and autoclave cycles to sterilize lab materials, redistribute clean glassware to storage areas. Non-Hazardous Waste Bulking: Pick up plastic bottles of non-hazardous media waste from designated lab locations, routine bulking of non-hazardous waste from labs into large waste drum. Capture and report job specific metrics to Site Supervisor and maintain good record-keeping.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Education in a relevant field preferred. Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of customer-service experience in a laboratory, warehouse, or similar environment.

Schedule: • 8 hour shifts, hourly position • Monday to Friday schedule Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams). Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach. Ability to read and understand SDS documentation and DOT labeling requirements.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Physical Requirements / Work Environment The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline. Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is often required.

The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs. Standing, walking, and manual material handling of chemical containers are frequent activiti es, sometimes in varied temperature environments. Overtime work may also be necessary.
