This role is part of Alcon's Marketing function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels, including through traditional Marketing strategies, event planning, and professional education.
The Director, Surgical Product/Brand Marketing - Upstream (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for leading complex projects to enhance outcomes and achieve strategic goals in surgical product/brand marketing. Specifics include: In this role, a typical day will include: Lead complex strategic marketing initiatives that drive business growth, strengthen market positioning, and optimize commercial outcomes. Develop and execute upstream brand and portfolio strategies across the surgical product portfolio.
Define product positioning, value propositions, target product profiles, and long-term brand roadmaps. Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product development, commercialization planning, and launch readiness activities. Drive lifecycle management strategies to maximize product performance and market adoption throughout the product lifecycle.
Support pricing strategy development and recommendations to achieve business and profitability objectives. Collaborate with regional and local market teams to ensure effective deployment of marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives. Develop, maintain, and govern product claims matrices to ensure alignment with clinical, regulatory, and commercial requirements.
Provide strategic recommendations and influence senior leadership decisions related to portfolio strategy, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities. Lead multiple concurrent projects supporting product launches, market expansion, and brand evolution. Analyze market trends, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and industry developments to inform business strategy.
Foster strong partnerships across Marketing, R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Clinical, Commercial, and Market Access functions. Utilize advanced industry knowledge and strategic planning expertise to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive execution excellence. Serve as a key marketing leader, demonstrating strong project management, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Mentor and influence cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and deliver impactful customer-focused solutions. Lead the development and execution of commercialization and launch readiness strategies for new products and portfolio initiatives. Drive portfolio strategy and optimization efforts to maximize product performance, lifecycle value, and future growth opportunities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Research & Development to identify, evaluate, and advance current and future innovation opportunities.
