As a Executive Director, HIV Treatment Portfolio Marketing & Strategy , at Gilead you will be responsible for defining and driving the integrated strategy for Gilead's HIV Treatment portfolio.
This role shapes the strategic direction of the franchise by aligning brand strategies into a cohesive growth agenda, enabling stronger portfolio performance, customer impact, and long-term market leadership. As a key member of the HIV Treatment Commercial Leadership Team, you will partner across Commercial, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Analytics, Commercial Operations, Finance, Government Affairs, Legal, Compliance, and Global Commercial teams to align priorities, drive execution excellence, and deliver meaningful outcomes for patients and healthcare providers. Portfolio Strategy & Growth Leadership Define and drive the integrated HIV Treatment portfolio strategy across brands.
Lead portfolio prioritization, investment planning, and strategic trade-off decisions to maximize business and patient impact. Partner with executive leadership to establish multi-year growth plans and portfolio objectives . Monitor evolving market, competitiveness , policy, and customer dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
Portfolio Marketing & Customer Engagement Develop integrated portfolio marketing strategies that strengthen overall franchise performance while supporting brand differentiation. Align customer engagement approaches across brands through data-driven insights and omnichannel capabilities. Advance digital transformation, innovation initiatives, AI-enabled capabilities, and next best action strategies across the portfolio.
Optimize portfolio media investments and commercial programs to improve customer experience and business outcomes. Cross-Functional Enterprise Leadership Serve as the unified strategic voice for the HIV Treatment portfolio across internal and external stakeholders. Build strong partnerships across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Finance, Analytics, Government Affairs, and Global teams.
Drive alignment, decision-making, and execution excellence across highly matrixed organizations. Business Performance & Operational Excellence Establish portfolio performance measures and lead strategic business reviews. Use analytics and customer insights to identify opportunities and improve franchise outcomes.
Oversee portfolio investments, resource allocation, and agency partnerships to maximize return on investment. Ensure effective portfolio governance and execution of enterprise priorities. Talent & Organizational Leadership Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
Foster an inclusive, accountable, and innovative culture. Build future organizational capabilities through coaching, succession planning, and talent development. Champion continuous improvement, collaboration, and learning across the organization.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 16+ years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree and 14+ years of relevant experience OR PhD and 14+ years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications Significant pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare commercial leadership experience. Experience within HIV, Infectious Diseases, Specialty Care, or related therapeutic areas. Demonstrated success leading portfolio strategy and marketing for large healthcare brands.
Proven ability to drive commercial growth in competitive markets. Strong understanding of customer engagement, omnichannel marketing, media strategy, and digital innovation. Experience leading launch readiness, lifecycle management, and business transformation initiatives.
Demonstrated success leading large cross-functional organizations and influencing executive stakeholders. Exceptional strategic planning, business analysis, and decision-making capabilities. Strong financial acumen, including budget management, resource allocation, and investment planning.
Outstanding communication skills and executive presence. MBA, PharmD, MPH, PhD, or other advanced degree preferred. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
