The Opportunity As our new Thought Leader Marketing Liaison you will play a central role in driving engagement strategy with national thought leaders and enhance our key partnerships with strategic initiatives that deliver against our core business objectives for Galderma’s first-in-class specialty biologic product with multiple indications. The role partners closely with key stakeholders within the US and global cross-functional teams as well as external partners. Provide subject-matter expert know-how when implementing Market Access & Pricing plans and programs to support integration of pricing and reimbursement, technology assessment, evidence-based review, and economic modelling.
You will be responsible for leading and managing key regional payer accounts and Medicaid states to ensure favorable formulary status, overseeing all aspects of payer engagement and negotiations for their respective accounts aligned to Galderma’s broader market access strategy. Strong business acumen and relationships with key senior stakeholders at these regional payers will be critical for success in this role. This position is a vital and strategic role within our growing market access team.
As a key member of the market access team, you will actively monitor payer, IDN, policy, competitor, market conditions and contract performance via payer segmentation to inform critical decisions and shape future access strategies. This role is primarily focused on the preparation for the launch of Galderma’s first-in-class specialty biologic treatment, for atopic dermatitis and prurigo nodularis. Specifically, you will engage with key decision makers on clinical effectiveness, formulary, health and technology assessments, communicating the value of Galderma’s products through pharmacoeconomic models, outcomes tools, and measures beyond randomized controlled trials (e.g., productivity, medical costs, etc.).
You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and pull through market access strategies, gathering key insights in the field to inform business planning. The position is a field-based role, requiring travel to customer accounts and Galderma HQ. Key Responsibilities Identify, cultivate, and maintain professional relationships with KOLs Develop and execute HCP engagement strategies to support shifting sentiment and developing Advocates and Champions for the brand Manage speaker bureau including supporting speaker training, compliance, and product theater speaker management Plan and execute brand KOL activity and meetings at key conferences Manage and/or advise on overall regional sponsorship budget, including recommendations, securement and execution Coordinate all necessary conference and speaker contracting and training requirements with agency vendor Partner with the HCP Marketing team to develop advisory board strategy, content, advisory recommendations, and attend advisory boards as appropriate Plan and execute KOL engagements and executive encounters at during field engagements, local, regional and national conferences Compliantly collaborate and communicate with the field commercial team on identified KOLs to ensure strategic and tactical cohesiveness.
Serve as the point of contact to for KOLs to the organization and is responsible for collaborating with field sales to advise on promotional program implementation with speakers where needed. Share KOL insights with marketing and senior leadership and provide feedback to commercial leadership on various topics (directed insights) as requested. Identify, develop, and measure KOL advocacy aligned to key brand messages.
Develop a strong understanding of the market and disease state, and identify short and long term opportunities to maximize brand and enterprise impact through professional engagements Develop and execute differentiating strategic initiatives and educational plans to pull through educational programming within region Support engagement and sphere of influence mapping strategy Qualifications 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in one or more of the following: field sales leadership, TLL, product marketing, or medical/clinical field-based experience in the same or related therapeutic area Experience in dermatology/immunology biologic therapeutics Launch experience preferred Cross-functional experience required, proven track record of collaboration and coordination with key internal and external stakeholders (including external agency partners) Exceptional communication and presentation skills: ability to articulate a point of view succinctly and effectively Comprehensive and proactive analytical/strategic thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to synthesize data into a key action/strategy and manage through from development to key performance metrics Ability and confidence to work effectively and with a sense of urgency across a global matrix enterprise, and to influence without authority Adaptability, resilience and tenacity and ability to quickly pivot Proficient in English, MS Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Valid driver's license Ability to travel >60%; could be less based on geography Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary Must work within label, and regulatory and legal compliance guidelines Key Accountabilities Develop and implement strategies and tactics to support formulary coverage and reimbursement (payment, and patient access) for regional payers and assigned Medicaid States Drive brand growth through strategies designed to maintain or improve brand formulary access Build relationships with and implement market access strategy with key regional payers Deliver value proposition and educate regional payer stakeholders on product and economic benefit, demonstrating deep, comprehensive understanding of the targeted disease states Coordinate and communicate with other commercial functions (e.g., marketing, sales, etc.) to ensure all market access needs are met across the organization within the region Develop and lead the implementation of account-specific business plans while collaborating closely with legal/compliance and other market access colleagues on contract negotiations Serves as a strategic partner to other market access partners, sharing business insights on accounts and market trends Inform and advise brand and sales leadership on key updates in the payer landscape Proactively identify and resolve any potential issues and challenges in collaboration with cross-functional partners Collaborate with cross functional colleagues to pull through processes, policies, and protocols that have been established by payers Assist in training field partners on payer knowledge and formulary/processes for reimbursement Ensure all activities are consistent with all regulations, laws, and company’s compliance policies Education and Experience Master’s, PharmD, MBA degree + 5 years – OR – Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of prior experience in the biotech / pharma / payer industry with a focus on payer account management and/or health systems Prior experience working with payers, national and/or regional health plans, state and local governments, and/or PBMs Demonstrated strategic influencing, communication, cross-functional, and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated track record of account planning, business planning, unstructured problem solving, and contracting skills Strong understanding of the US payer and channel landscape, as well as market access models (e.g., budget impact and cost effectiveness models) Technical proficiency of U.S. drug reimbursement and access (e.g., coverage, coding and payment) is required Travel requirements: ability to travel up to 50% as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Works effectively in a team-based organization, collaborates cross-functionally, and builds alignment around key objectives at all levels Strategic planning, execution, and project-management along with excellent analytical and communication skills is required Ability to partner closely with market access strategy, payer marketing, and other field and home office roles across the organization to drive preferred access and coverage at payer accounts Executive presence and the ability to interact and negotiate with senior stakeholders at payer accounts Physical Requirements and Work Environment This role requires the ability to perform standard office activities, including extended periods of computer use, participation in virtual and in-person meetings, and collaboration across teams. Where pay falls withing the range may vary based on many factors, including, but not limited to, job responsibilities, skills, experience, education, certifications, location and applicable geographic pay zones, market conditions, internal equity and business considerations. Compensation decisions are made based on an assessment of the candidate’s qualifications and the totality of relevant factors. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an annual short-term incentive program, subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
