Purpose of the Job and Expected outcome
Coordinating the daily activities within (a part of) the department, acting as the first point of contact for questions and problems from his team and acting as an advisor to the Laboratory Management.
Key Accountabilities
- ✓Coordinates the daily activities and supervises the execution of the work.
- ✓Planning in the laboratory.
- ✓Supervision of compliance with the safety rules within the department.
- ✓Monitors the operation of the equipment.
- ✓Acts as the point of contact for the Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Management.
- ✓Daily activities are coordinated, questions are answered and problems are solved.
- ✓The quality of work within the department is monitored to ensure that they meet the standards.
- ✓Solves more complex problems.
- ✓Monitor Analytical and post analytical issues related to samples including investigation and remediation of the same
- ✓Proposals made to optimize work processes and procedures and work regulations have been drawn up
- ✓Act as PPIC who is principally responsible for the management and control of any type of business or tissue banking activities as per requirements of MOH.
- ✓Liaise with MOH and CGO for applying, maintaining and/ or cessation of activity various regulations of MOH like PHMC, HBR framework, Biosafety, Waste management etc.
- ✓Be responsible for any new CSV and assay validation by the team in Singapore.
- ✓Inventory management including imports (including import licenses) as appropriate
- ✓Reporting of results within TAT as agreed with sponsors.
Position Specifications and Job Requirements
- ✓Minimum 8-10 years’ work experience in a central lab or clinical laboratory.
- ✓Control of MS Office and the Software packages of the devices at the laboratory.
- ✓Use of Biorad URT / similar application
- ✓Troubleshooting related to assay , QC or PT failures.
- ✓Obligates to perform work and to behave according to the agreements established in SOPs, within the overall quality system of the ISO and, where applicable, the specific applicable quality system.
- ✓Shows detailed knowledge and skills with regard to the work, keeps up to date and increases professional knowledge, keeps abreast of the latest developments.
- ✓B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or equivalent.
