Position Summary

The Area Vice President, Instrument Processing Services (IPS), leads the strategy, growth, and execution of STERIS's Instrument Processing business across key markets nationwide. This executive leader drives business development initiatives, expands OnSite (Interim) and ORC service offerings, and strengthens strategic customer and IDN partnerships. Responsible for sales performance, forecasting, revenue growth, profitability, quota attainment, and expense management, the AVP builds and leads a high-performing Business Development team focused on accelerating market expansion and delivering exceptional customer value through innovative reprocessing solutions.

This role will require nationwide, overnight travel up to 50%.

What you will do as Area Vice President, Instrument Processing Solutions:

  • Develop and execute strategies to strengthen Strategic Customer, IDN, and channel partner relationships across the full STERIS Reprocessing portfolio.
  • Lead the growth and expansion of the Instrument Processing business, including OnSite (Interim) and ORC solutions, through market analysis, strategic planning, and business development initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver sales forecasts, strategic plans, budgets, and business presentations to senior leadership.
  • Align sales forecasts, operational capabilities, and financial objectives to support business performance and revenue targets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and programs that enhance sales effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Influence and collaborate across complex, multi-level organizations to drive alignment with sales and growth objectives.
  • Develop contingency plans and long-term strategies to address market dynamics and support sustained business growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Instrument Processing Business Development Team.
  • Direct cross-functional teams to secure, launch, and successfully implement new customer business opportunities.
  • Communicate business launch requirements and coordinate efforts across internal stakeholders, field sales teams, and customers to ensure successful execution.
  • Support the Business Development Team in building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders and executive decision-makers within strategic accounts and IDNs.
  • Lead complex customer negotiations, including contract terms and conditions, to secure new business and drive successful outcomes.
  • Manage team quotas, performance objectives, and operating expenses to achieve revenue and profitability goals.

The Abilities, Skills, and Experience Required

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 15+ years' related sales experience
  • 10+ years of sales management experience
  • 5+ years' working at the C-level at Strategic Customers or IDNs
  • 5+ years' experience managing complex accounts, making strategic decisions based on financial analysis, and developing/analyzing complicated financial and operational data

Preferred

  • MBA or other related graduate degree
  • 5+ years' project management experience
  • 5+ years managing a senior sales staff

Pay range for this opportunity is $167,450.00 - $216,700.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
