The Senior Manager Tax APAC is a key member of the CSL Global Tax team with responsibility for the primary oversight and management of tax affairs for Australia and other APAC countries excluding China. Reporting to the Regional Head of Tax APAC, this is a 15-month fixed team maternity leave cover contract. Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities Lead direct and indirect tax compliance across the region, partnering with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely filings and strong governance.
Manage tax risk, audits, and tax authority reviews, representing the business and providing expert guidance on tax positions. Act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing commercial tax advice on transactions, business changes, and strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance across all territories. Oversee tax accounting, forecasting, budgeting, cash tax planning, and statutory reporting requirements.
Lead the Australian R&D Tax Incentive process, partnering with business and finance stakeholders to maximise available incentives and ensure successful claim submissions. Support transfer pricing activities, including documentation reviews, implementation of pricing policies, and collaboration with global tax teams. Monitor legislative developments, conduct technical research, and provide strategic insights on tax reform and tax planning opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement across tax processes, enhancing efficiency, consistency, controls, and risk management. Contribute to global tax projects, initiatives, and broader tax strategy execution across the region Qualifications, Skills & Experience 8+ years' experience in corporate tax, ideally within a multinational organisation, professional services environment, or a combination of both Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related discipline, with CA, CPA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification Demonstrated expertise across Australian and international tax compliance, reporting and advisory matters Experience managing ATO audits, reviews and tax authority engagements, including Australian Tax Transparency Reporting obligations Proven experience delivering Australian R&D Tax Incentive claims and advising on complex tax matters Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear, commercially focused advice and influence decision-making Experience with SAP, OneSource or similar tax systems, supported by strong analytical, communication and continuous improvement capabilities Melbourne CBD based Hybrid working Closing date for applications: 8th September 2026 About CSL Behring CSL Behring is a global biotherapeutics leader driven by our promise to save lives.
