About this role
This position is responsible for encoding terms reported as adverse events and medical history as well as prior and concomitant medications using industry accepted dictionaries such as MedDRA and WHOdrug. Summary of the Essential Functions of the Job Coding performed in accordance with departmental coding conventions and company SOPs. The coder will generate queries for clarification of potentially discrepant data.
Ability to work in cross-functional team-oriented environments. Assist with data coding consistency reviews and SAE reconciliation, as needed. The Coder will collaborate with medical monitors, Clinical and Data Management team members, as required, to ensure the timely processing of coding, according to project timelines.
Experience of coding tools (ie. Medidata RAVE Coder, TMS, Veeva, etc.) Assist in interdepartmental training of new staff as needed. Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree or related health science background.
Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of a 4 year degree. 2+ years industry experience in pharmacovigilance, clinical research, and/or clinical data management required. Experience with MedDRA and WHODD Working knowledge of medical terminology, clinical trials & coding is essential.
