Position Summary

The GYN-ONC (Gynecologic Oncology) TA Lead of Genmab KK (Japan) will be work as a GYN-ONC TA/Brand champion and TA leader.

Primary responsibility for all marketing activities to maximize the in-line product and ensure the successful launch of the new product in GYN-ONC in Japan. The position is heavily involved in working with both global and local internal key cross-functional stakeholders as well as external key stakeholders to ensure timely commercial activity planning and execution excellence in achieving the best-in-class launch of the new product.

Primary roles & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-

  • Lead launch readiness planning and execution
  • Lead end-to-end launch readiness activities by coordinating cross-functional teams, including Global, Development, Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Sales, Commercial Excellence, Finance, Supply Chain, QA/CMC, Safety, and external partners where applicable, to ensure a successful and timely product launch in Japan.
  • Establish and drive a structured launch readiness framework, including governance, milestones, decision-making processes, risk management, and launch readiness reviews, ensuring clear ownership, alignment, and accountability across all functions.
  • Identify critical launch risks, gaps, and cross-functional dependencies, proactively escalate issues, and lead the development and execution of mitigation plans.
  • Facilitate regular launch readiness reviews and progress tracking to ensure organizational preparedness across all launch dimensions.
  • Develop comprehensive market assessments and commercial strategy
  • Lead the commercialization planning process by working closely with Global and Japan cross-functional stakeholders to assess disease landscapes, target product profiles, competitive dynamics, patient journeys, customer purchasing behavior, and market opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine comprehensive commercial brand plans, launch readiness plans, and execution tracking plans to maximize market opportunities, mitigate competitive risks, and ensure best-in-class commercialization in Japan.
  • Lead commercialization planning and execution in close collaboration with external co-promotion or alliance partners, where applicable.
  • Conduct ongoing market assessments by defining primary and secondary market research objectives, gathering customer insights from KOLs and other stakeholders, and translating insights into actionable commercial strategies and tactical refinements.
  • Lead the development and execution of KOL engagement strategies and congress plans to maximize product reputation, scientific leadership, and message penetration.
  • Partner with Global Commercial, Clinical Development, and Medical teams to develop lifecycle management strategies and maximize long-term product value.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, and Finance to establish key assumptions for sales forecasts, market models, and long-range commercial planning.
  • Lead brand team governance and cross-functional execution
  • Lead and facilitate Brand Team and Launch Task Force meetings to ensure cross-functional alignment, timely decision-making, and flawless execution.
  • Work closely with key cross-functional stakeholders, including external partners where applicable, to ensure effective brand management and execution.
  • Lead strategic cross-functional initiatives related to the brand and secure alignment and support across the organization.
  • Execute and optimize marketing strategy and field operations
  • Partner with the Therapeutic Area Leadership Lead (TLL) and Sales organization to support KOL engagement through marketing initiatives.
  • Define, monitor, and continuously optimize brand KPIs, including market share, account penetration, patient acquisition, launch readiness metrics, and commercial dashboards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Plan and execute company-sponsored and co-sponsored congresses, symposia, and promotional events.
  • Lead the development of promotional materials and collaborate closely with Marketing Communications to ensure consistent, compliant, and impactful messaging.
  • Identify the optimal customer engagement channels and content strategy, and work closely with Omnichannel, Marketing Communications, and Digital teams to maximize customer engagement and experience.
  • Validate commercial strategies and tactics through analysis of SFE, Business Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, and field insights, and incorporate learnings into future planning cycles.
  • Collaborate with the Training team to identify capability gaps, define training priorities, and support implementation to ensure successful execution of brand strategy.
  • 5. Forecasting and financial management
  • Collaborate with Finance, Business Intelligence, and Commercial Excellence to develop sales forecasts, financial scenarios, and business assumptions that support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage and monitor the brand operating budget (OPEX), ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial performance tracking.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive marketing responsibilities with pharmaceutical product(s). Oncology and Gynecology experience strongly preferred
  • Broad marketing experience including launch readiness strategic and local execution planning
  • Proven ability to lead and work with many areas of marketing management including strategy development, engagement programs, market research, segmentation, competitive dynamics, and issues management in a highly complex and dynamic environment.
  • Thorough understanding of early commercialization and brand development process and the critical and specific needs for the necessary commercial insights and touch points.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to synthesize and communicate data and research outputs to formulate marketing recommendations and inform strategy.
  • Ability to analyze market dynamics and generate insights to develop effective brand plans and marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills including experience with financial models.
  • Experience in sales preferred
  • Understanding of the R&D process and importance of integrating commercial and development strategy and plans.
  • Strong scientific/medical aptitude with the ability to understand complex scientific/medical concepts.
  • Strong leadership skills and facilitation skills and ability to collaborate across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple internal Global and Japan cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, with an entrepreneurial mind-set and a track record of results.
  • Resourceful, decisive and proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-growing organization.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Mid-High level of business English fluency - Must
