Sr Instrument Repair Technician Req. # 27477 Job Family FV - Field Service Location US-MA-Milford Pay Range Minimum USD $58,000.00 Pay Range Maximum USD $96,500.00 Overview This role is an Instrument Repair Technician position within Waters Corporation's Americas Training and Support Center (ATSC) . The ATSC supports the Americas Service organization through technical, repair, logistics, and product support functions. As an Instrument Repair Technician, you would receive structured on-the-job training and develop expertise with Waters' analytical instruments (LC, LC/MS, HPLC/UPLC, SFC).
After training, technicians are expected to rotate through multiple areas within the ATSC to support operational efficiency and product throughput. The main areas for successful candidates to focus on will be: LC and MS Rework/CPO Instrument Repairs/Logistics Recycled Parts Metrology Instrument Repairs/Logistics Parts Return Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and process customer instruments, and candidates for MS and LC rework and CPO. Coordinate movement and handling of equipment through service workflows.
Disassembly, reassembly, cleaning and testing technical components of Waters Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Mass Spectrometer (MS) instruments. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to test and calibrate electronic field tools. Assist with in-house logistics and inventorying of parts or instruments.
Qualifications Education and Background: High School Diploma essential Associate or Bachelor's degree, preferred but is not essential. An engineering or science related background is desired. Experience, Skills, and Core Requirements: Ability to read and interpret documentation (SOPs, process sheets, checklists, drawings, etc) is essential.
Experience in disassembly and reassembly of technical parts is an advantage Ability to learn new software packages quickly in order to operate instrumentation and perform data processing and reporting. Demonstrated ability to be 'hands on' with respect to using common and technical tools. Effective communication skills to seamlessly work across multi-functional groups and stakeholders.
Effective time management skills and ability to focus on the task at hand to deliver quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
