About The Role The Associate Director, LCMS provides scientific and technical leadership in bioanalysis by LC-MS/MS in the Laboratory Sciences department. The Associate Director is responsible for managing direct reports, providing scientific support and ensuring their performance, productivity and efficiency in their project assignment. Participate in professional internal/external presentations, scientific out-reach and conferences.

What You'll Do Here Responsible for personnel management activities of assigned staff such as: scheduling projects, training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions, preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews. Responsible for scientific review of driving documents and reports and raising any pertinent issues to Senior management. Contribute to financial success in their areas of expertise, as demonstrated by revenue and GM targets and client satisfaction achieved.

Responsible for ensuring quality and regulatory requirements are met by scientific staff in their team and that any quality issues, KPI issues are promptly resolved. Responsible for ensuring continued operational improvements for efficiency and cost control in their areas of expertise. Provide scientific support to assigned Responsible Scientists/Contributing/Principal Investigator within the area of expertise, ensure project timelines are respected, and any delays communicated in a prompt fashion to all key internal and external stakeholders; Recommends resource adjustment when required based on deliverable schedules.

May be assigned as a Bioanalytical Responsible Scientist/Contributing Scientist/Principal Investigator/, as needed. Responsible for set-up and implementation of training for technical and scientific LCMS staff. Responsible for improved efficiency initiatives in the laboratory, including scheduling assays, operations and improving workflows.

Review costing assessments and scheduling projects with Business Development and Operations. Contribute to the growth and development of Altasciences LCMS assay services, as well as participate in strategic planning. Responsible for working closely with other management members.

May serve as back-up when other Laboratory Sciences leadership is out of office. Contribute in professional internal/external presentations, scientific out-reach and conferences. Respect Health and Safety standards in terms of personal protection, laboratory maintenance, and work procedures.

May act as Test Site / Facility Management for applicable validation and sample analysis studies as well as method approval. What You'll Need to Succeed Ph. D. in the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or Pharmacology with 5+ years of relevant experience.

M.Sc. with 7+ years of relevant experience. B.Sc. with 10+ years of relevant experience in bioanalysis or other pertinent laboratory based qualifications in a CRO or Pharma in lieu of Ph.D. Minimum of 5 years of related experience.

3+ years related supervisory experience in a multidisciplinary environment MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals. Ability to write advanced reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Well developed interpersonal skills are required. Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information.

Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities. Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
