Director/Associate Director, Thought Leader Engagement – Head & Neck Oncology

The Director/Associate Director of Thought Leader Engagement is a field-based marketing role responsible for developing and leading strategic engagement with Head & Neck Oncology Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Medical Experts (MEs), and other key influencers across the United States.

This role will play a critical part in preparing for and supporting the potential launch of petosemtamab by generating strategic insights that inform brand strategy, launch readiness, and long-term customer engagement planning.

The Director/Associate Director reports to the Head of Thought Leader Engagement – Head & Neck Oncology and partners closely with cross-functional leaders across Marketing, Sales, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to shape and execute thought leader engagement strategies that support successful launch preparation and execution.

A core expectation of this role is to deliver a KYSO (Knock Your Socks Off) customer experience by orchestrating a coordinated One Genmab engagement model that ensures interactions with Genmab are seamless, strategic, and differentiated.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the national thought leader engagement strategy supporting the pre-launch and potential launch of petosemtamab.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with national and regional Head & Neck Oncology KOLs, Medical Experts, and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor the evolving Head & Neck Oncology landscape and identify clinical, scientific, and market trends that may affect the adoption of petosemtamab.
  • Serve as a primary Genmab contact for leading KOLs, Medical Experts, and key influencers within the Head & Neck Oncology community.
  • Lead thought leader engagement planning and execution at major oncology and Head & Neck scientific congresses, conferences, and other key meetings.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and evaluate members of the petosemtamab speaker bureau, in accordance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver a KYSO customer experience through a coordinated One Genmab approach across Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and Market Access.
  • Gather and synthesize strategic insights from thought leader interactions to inform brand strategy, launch planning, customer engagement, and execution.
  • Establish effective processes for sharing field-generated insights with appropriate cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships and facilitate alignment across Genmab teams.
  • Lead key thought leader engagement initiatives and manage associated priorities, timelines, agency partners, and budgets.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Genmab policies and applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience for consideration at the Director level, or at least 8 years for consideration at the Associate Director level.
  • Significant oncology experience gained through marketing, sales, account management, thought leader engagement, medical affairs, or another relevant customer-facing function.
  • Demonstrated experience building credible, productive relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, Medical Experts, or other senior external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, synthesize, and translate customer and market insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of oncology commercialization, customer engagement, and the roles of academic and community-based stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decision-making without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-management, and executive-influence skills.
  • Understanding of applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements governing commercial engagement with healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, programs, agency partners, timelines, and budgets in a fast-paced launch environment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%–60%, including overnight travel and occasional weekends for congresses, conferences, and other business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA, MS, PharmD, PhD, or other relevant graduate degree.
  • Direct experience in Head & Neck Oncology, particularly head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
  • Established relationships with national and regional Head & Neck Oncology KOLs and Medical Experts.
  • Previous experience in a Thought Leader Engagement, Thought Leader Liaison, KOL engagement, or comparable field-based marketing role.
  • Oncology product launch or pre-launch experience.
  • Experience identifying, developing, training, and evaluating promotional speakers.
  • Experience supporting advisory boards, congress engagement, peer-to-peer education, and other external-expert programs.
  • Knowledge of Head & Neck Oncology treatment pathways, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and academic and community treatment settings.
  • Experience working in a high-growth or emerging biotechnology environment.
  • For appointment at the Director level, demonstrated experience leading complex national initiatives, mentoring colleagues, and operating as a strategic partner to senior cross-functional leaders.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$211,200.00---$316,800.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
